URL / Hosting question

Is it possible to still get a decent amount of traffic if I use a domain name that is not the name of the product I am trying to sell?

In other words, I want to use a domain name that is relevant to a category of products in order to test which products will get more sales.

I am trying to avoid purchasing a domain name and hosting for a product that does poorly.

I want to be able to use the same domain name again with a different product if needed.

Is this a doomed strategy or is there a better solution?

So instead of SonyDVDplayers.com you'd go for BestDVDPlayers.com? Does that sound like what you are asking? I'd say that would be fine because then you have some flexibility. Plus you can always use something like this: sonydvdplayers.bestdvdplayers.com or bestdvdplayers.com/sonydvdplayers So you'd have options even if you didn't start with a very specific domain.

I hope I understood you correctly and hope that helps!
