Now THIS is a Transcript!

Over my time here, I've gotten involved with threads about product creation. One of my recurring themes is my disgust with unreadable transcripts, but I really haven't had a good example to point to of what I thought a good transcript looked like.

Until now...

Carline Anglade-Cole interviewed by Clayton Makepeace | The Total Package

This interview is well-edited, well-formatted and easy to read. It's the kind of transcript that would add real value to an audio or video product.

    Hey, John ~

Have you been the victim of a bad transcript? Sorry to hear that...I know there's lots of junk out there.

Thanks for mentioning how a good transcript adds real value to a product! I concur!

I just got a back a transcription back that was terrible. I think they just used a machine or something. So I'm now spending a few hours re-editing it since I would have been embarrassed to release it as is. I think that is why you see a lot bad transcriptions out there. I just can't believe people release it like that when it has their name attached to it.

Thanks for the link. Clayton Makepeace is awesome.

Some heavy word processing and formatting skills on this one. Doesn't look like a substandard service was used here, but what did they use to convert from audio? Any ideas?

I believe Mr. Makepeace has stated before that he endorses using HUMANS to do work like writing, transcribing, etc. I believe the idea is "things done FOR humans should be done BY humans." Just a vague memory - don't "quote me" on it!

      Best Regards, Georgetta
