What is the one thing that is stopping you reach your goals right now?

Internet marketing can be difficult to get going in the
beginning.

I was quite lucky when I first got started because I
live in London so I get to go to all the best events
when they are in town.

I managed to get the right training very early on which
helped me get on the right track from the start.

Some people are not so lucky and can get lost in all the
junk and noise when first starting out.

What is the one thing that is stopping you reach your
goals right now?

Please reply with your ONE biggest 'sticking point' right now and
we can then help fellow warriors get to the next level in their
businesses.

Cheers

My ONE biggest sticking point was sticking to "the plan", whatever that was. And that was to have one plan only.

The second I started to doubt the plan, instead of figuring out a solution early on, I'd panic and come up with a completely new one, or worse; just buy a new product with someone else's plan.

When I realized what I was doing, and WHY I was doing it, it's the same ole' FOF - Fear Of Failure. Imagine working on one plan, sticking to it for a couple months, investing both money and time into it, and then for it to NOT pan out? Would you have the strength to get back up? It's easier to recover from failure if you didn't put all you had into it. If you only did it halfway, you could always tell yourself "Hey, I could do it if I really put all my efforts into it."

All events I ever hear about are located in the US, most of the time in San Diego. So what events have there been in London, if you don't mind me asking?

      Hey Henri,

Well I was talking about all kinds of events.

When I knew I had to start a business I went to several events on
Property, Stocks, IM, Personal Development etc.

I would not have been able to do that in my Home Town up north.

There are was big event called 'The Ultimate Marketing Seminar'
where 10 top Internet marketers gave there pitch and it was from
      there I got my mentor.

The one thing that is stopping me from reaching my goals right now, and my one biggest 'sticking point', is my fear of failure. I worry that all of the time and the money that I am investing in the building of my internet marketing business may not pay off in the long run? Why am I afraid of failure? Mainly because of the time that I am investing in my business.

Once I invest all of this time and energy, I can't ever get them back. This is time taken away from my family, my hobbies, my job, etc......... It is a very valuable commitment, and time is a priceless commodity. That is why it is so important for me get back an acceptable ROI.

Finding the right vehicle to get you to where you want to go, and utilizing that vehicle effectively is one way to alleviate the time factor AND the fear of failure. Following through with your business plan and being persistant are a couple of other keys to successful internet marketing.

My single biggest problem right now is that I don't know where to start. I have a little money that I can spend, but I don't want to spend it on things that are worthless and won't provide me an practical value.

I have enough money to buy domains and hosting, and maybe enough to outsource some work such as link-building and content creation. I might have enough to buy some tools such a samurai niche finder as well. The thing is, I don't want to use my hard earned money on something that is trash and not really helpful. I need to get a positive return on my investments.

If you see all or nearly all positive responses, then it is a good product to consider. Don't just accept all positive reviews if they come from the initial reviews from people who were given review copies. Do a little research and see what purchasers have said about the product.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. And I want others to realize this as well.

    Did you know?

That the most sought after special teams kicking coach in the NFL is a paraplegic? Yes, that is right. The guy most requested as a kicking coach in the NFL has never actually kicked a football through the up-rights in his entire life.

If that doesn't ****ing speak to you, nothing I say will.

Nothing is holding me back from reaching my goals. I reach them on a near constant basis! Why?

Because I divide them up into milestones. Attacking a goal is no easy task, but with a plan of milestones you can reach whatever you seek. Whatever you seek.

If you want it, go for it. If you fall on your face, get the **** up and do it again. Practice makes perfect. Stop looking at your failures as set-backs, but rather as lessons. You WILL fail. And you WILL succeed. But only if you work at it.

The status quo is for those who want to keep their nine to five. That is easy. Running your own business is not easy. Listening to others TELL you how to build your business is even harder.

Ears and eyes wide open. Save your opinion for later. YOU are in control of your own destiny, and if you don't feel that way about your life/business, then you need to do some serious soul searching.

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

The sticking point will be to FOCUS.

Sometimes, we get so distracted by the new shiny objects because we want an easy way to earn tons of money in a short time. There's no easy way to make money. It requires effort & hard work on our part.

What I found from another thread:

      F - Follow
      O - One
      C - Course
      U - Until
      S - Succeed

For the longest time I couldn't settle on the one thing to focus on for making money online. We are all bombarded by so many options. Plus I'm a learning-a-holic--turns out I like studying and learning something new better then putting what I learn into practice!

I have to say thank you for this thread. I'm quite involved in the personal development community and for some reason, this question has never come up in my consciousness.

The first thing that popped into my head was confidence. Literally the only thing stopping between me and the next step is a lack of confidence in my abilities. Ironically, I don't feel this way in any other parts of my life.

The term convincer comes to mind. Your convincer is what has to happen before you believe you can do something consistently. For me, that would be sales. There's also a subset of criteria, which varies for each person. Some people are instantly convinced (lucky buggers...), others need a period of time, some need a number of times, and some poor souls are never convinced of their abilities. I'm a combination of number of times and time period.

Thanks for putting me on this train of thought.

      -Tim
