Is there a demand for Video PLR?

19 replies
Good day, all!

My name is Kathryn and I have been a SEO writer since 2000. Frankly, I'm tired of writing! I do, however, LOVE making videos out of short articles.

I was wondering - if I were to create short, informational, slideshow-style videos, would anyone be interested in that? I don't know how else to find out if there's a demand for that sort of thing other than to ask.

The PLR aspect would basically be this: you can change the title of the video, write whatever you want in the description, and add whatever keywords you like. Put it up on youtube or any other video sites and also on your blog if you like. Of course, the one draw back is that you can't "spin" the video - it is what it is. Of course, when you change the name of the video, I really don't think google would have any way of knowing whether there were hundreds of the same video online.

I just put up a PLR website, sat down to write, and groaned. I really am burned out on writing and it would be great if there was a demand for something I really enjoyed!

Aside from PLR, I suppose I could also take others' articles and make them into videos as well, if there's a demand for that?

Thanks, in advance, for your input.

Regards,
Kathryn Doyle

    Not really, those videos don't really do much and I believe youtube would eventually notice the same video over and over, different title/description or not. But I prefer real videos, so there might be some demand that I don't quite get.

    yes since the demand for plr is so high in this market in general, any kind of plr is fine including video plr. But just like any plr it has to be used in the right way to make it effective.

    As far as video plr goes it would be best to use it as products to sell and not to blast thousands of video sharing sites with the content or it wouldn't be long before everyone spammed the crap out if youtube making them change some rules.

    PLR videos do sell well, in my experience -- although the 'watch me as I do it' type is probably more popular than the slideshow type.

    There aren't too many 'how to' PLR videos in non-marketing niches available -- videos in the areas of health, fitness, and other well-being niches could do well. (IMO)

    Yes, there's a demand for video PLR.

    Why don't you create a series for a certain topic
    and bundle it up as a video course?

      Kathryn, if you enjoy creating videos, by all means create PLR videos.

      As another poster said, these videos shouldn't be aimed at the video sharing sites for obvious reasons. Why not aim them at product creators instead?

      When I'm creating products, I DREAD going through the basics -- that is, creating tutorials for newbies to an area. I'd love to see GOOD PLR videos on the basics:

      * Buying a domain name

      * Uploading via FTP

      * Anti-virus software

      * Using CPanel

      * WordPress basics

      * Etc

      If you created short videos -- 3 minutes or so -- I'd buy them, and I'm sure other product creators would buy them too.

      You could sell these PLR videos on your site, and they'd be pretty much evergreen.

      Add a form to your site, so that anyone who wants a video in a specific area could fill in your form...

        Thank you everyone for such comprehensive, helpful feedback!

        I appreciate that you guys would rather "cut to the chase" or "get down to brass tacks" so to speak when you are creating products. I would love to create some basic "how to" videos.

        The first question that comes to mind is: with or without voice over? The reason I ask this is because, when it is PLR, you want to present the videos as products you created. How is this one detail managed?

        What would be the price range for something like this? My articles always run $35 apiece unique and I've heard one should charge $5 per 5 pack PLR. Any feedback?

        I'm excited to create something of value that doesn't involve writing

        Thanks again.

          Videos are easy to create with the voice-over. I think it's easier, in fact. You don't have to go far to watch multi-milliionaire GURUs doing their videos completely live, obviously only speaking from an outline or even just off the top of their head.

          Don't sweat the quality of the video or even the audio -- CONTENT is the King, still.

          And, btw, have you considered doing webinars? I could help you with that, if you like some advice. I've done over 2000 hours of webinars myself. In fact, I'll soon put up a WSO about doing webinars. Would LOVE to connect and see if we could work together, if you're a mind...

              Stay tuned, then Amanda! I'll be putting it up here within the next 2 weeks... Actually... there'll be a pre-launch idea as a WSO, then the real thing later. Anyway. Just watch for it!

            I totally agree and I'm all for it. I sincerely wish I could and I am working on it but there is one slight audio problem - er, 3 problems - they are my little boys aged 2, 4, and 6! I have 2 options: I can get a decent noise cancelling headset for nearly $100 (which is on "my list") or, I can work entirely after bed time and cut into my time with the hubby as well as my sleep time. Not to mention, who would sit in on a webinar at 10pm (which is when the 2 year old FINALLY gets down)?

            I have a love of counseling and have dreamed of doing job interview coaching webinars. I mean, I REALLY want to do it - I've seen many people who have SORELY needed to feed their families lose job opportunities for want of proper interview skills. It's number 1 on my gotta do list.

            I love that you brought this up because I have been racking my brain trying to figure out a way to do this...I was thinking - maybe chatrooms? Like they did before webinars? Live chat? Does anyone still have an interest in that?

            Ernie, if you have any ideas on how I can do a decent webinar with 3 little boys in the background - since I know you've done many webinars - I would be all over that.

            Thank you!.

              Kathryn... let's talk off the forum... you are the perfect fit for what I have in mind, because you have a product to sell and have trouble getting it done, published and sold... my techniques will help you, I"m certain. Ok, well, I can't solve those 3 two-legged issues... I had 4 kids myself, once-upon-a-time... but I have some ideas for you I'd be happy to share... You can reach me at ernie@delosprojects.com

                You could consider going to a local hotel for the day, while your hubby
                watches the kids either at home or have them go swimming at the hotel pool.

                While you create/host the webinar. Which doesn't necessarily have to run
                live in real time. (ref. [real time] I'm sure Ernie can explain that more to you.

                Yes it does add some cost to the process, however if you sell your product
                or service on the webinar you could easily make it up.

                Plus you get some well deserved quiet time.

                  How about making videos for the offline market? And I'm not talking about videos that offline consultants use for their own lead generation but promo videos that could actually be sold to real offline businesses or consultants. Mypromovideos.com does this but they're raising their prices which should provide an opening for a lower cost service.

    With voice overs could be useful, as could without voice overs and perhaps with a PLR script?

    I know I would be one interested in ordering videos made out of my articles so that as a service would likely do well also.

      Great idea about the script, I'll do that. Also, my post count isn't high enough to PM you but, if you would like to PM me a link to an article and your email address, I would love to create a video from it in exchange for some feedback. If you like it, maybe we could work something out?

      That really goes for anybody here who's interested. The best teacher is experience!

    I think you could do pretty well with it. I bought some PLR videos to use in Giveaways, and they are pretty popular.
