New to list building, advice needed

Hi,

I'm looking to build a email subscription list from scratch, which contains only UK signups.

I've seen from another thread that an 'adsolo' would be a good way to start it off.

My question is what is an adsolo? and how much money would it roughly cost to do one to say 10,000 people (if someone had such a list).

    Solo ads are advertisements that are sent out by people to their email lists. You would have to find people that have email lists that are related to your niche and then have them send out a solo advertisement to your website.

    I don't know how much it would cost, but I would recommend just using pay per click and targeting UK only. It would be easier to get sign ups because I don't think you will find a lot of email lists that have UK subscribers. Most people try to target United States.

    well there are adswaps and solo ads.

    Adswaps are basically where people with similar list sizes email for each other.

    A solo ad is just when you pay someone with a list of any size to email for you.

    The price depends on the list size, quality, and the owner of the list. Just contact the owner of the list and ask then those 3 things, you can usually negotiate them down, or to mail for you twice.

    As far as just building a list ok UK sign ups, I think ppc would be the only way to go with that, and just bid in the UK, not sure how to do that with sol ads.

    I have to agree. PPC seems the only way to go if you want UK subscribers only.

    Guess its PPC and SEO.

    Although I know you said it would be hard to find a list im sure someone must have one that is a couple of 1000.
