What's the hardest thing for you online?

When it comes to working online. What's the hardest thing for you to understand? Whether that be traffic, making money, building a website, or increasing your already profitable online business.

Not sure there's anything I don't *understand*, but I do struggle some with increasing targetted traffic, as well as increasing already profitable areas I have going. 'Struggle' is even too strong a word - 'focus' is the bigger problem I have. Focusing on one area long enough to get the results I want and see it through. :/

So the hardest thing for you would be "focusing" on your goals and actually achieving them. I definitely relate to that as I sometimes fall short of focusing and tend to hop from one thing to the next.

It sucks when you have a nice income stream of $100+ passive income, but then suddenly jump to another project XD Well.. maybe that's just me. But I do it all the time lol. I like to learn learn learn and that's probably where I fault.

Also I noticed you live in Raleigh, NC, I live in Virginia Beach, VA, and considering to move to Raleigh in around February, how is it out there?

My wife and I like it. I'm from Detroit, and the winters are nicer here

I'm running a conference - indieconf | conference for independent web professionals - which is for independent web professionals - would you be interested in coming down to Raleigh for that event? Saturday, Nov 19.

Building a website, definitely! The technical stuff makes me want to pull my hair out.

I am working on a custom lightbox now with aweber and cannot get it to work. I'm ready to trash the whole idea. If I had not paid for the design work, I might just delete all the files. I know it's a simple process, per the youtube videos I've watched, but I just cannot get this to work and it's irritating. The designer is not a technical person so he is not able to edit the aweber code to function with his designs.

Building a website is about when you get it done, to save the process because you can duplicate it easy the second, third and so on.

I use to build a template based web site for other webmasters, when I just had to make a couple changes in my template for each site to match their design, I could make $300 in 10 minutes in programing

    Offsite SEO.

Sometimes I ask myself after an hour of working on backlinks...."will those link even matter"? Because basically we are just guessing and Google algorithms can change any day.

      Pretty much this.

Everything else seems at least somewhat tangible and measurable, even the psychology of ad copy etc. SEO however is still at least partly a mystery to all of us.

Making money online ain't exactly rocket science, but like someone said, it's about focus. And this can be hard online because of distraction. At any moment, there's all sorts of things wanting your attention. Emails, facebook, twitter...you name it.

I honestly don't have a problem understanding anything related to internet marketing, but I don't like taking the time to build backlinks or rank for a keyword on Google. I prefer getting traffic from PPC, video marketing, social networking or another means.

It was the technical stuff because I'd know what I wanted to do but couldn't do it easily but I got that all figured out pretty easily now.

Now, the biggest thing is keeping up with all the ideas in my head of what to do next.

I come up with all these ideas and make a list of them so I don't forget some good idea I had before I can get it done. I keep marking things off but I keep adding things on my list.

Which is a good thing. :-)
