Critique My Product Review Site/Need Help with Traffic!

So, I've been working on getting this site up for a while (admittedly, I haven't had much time, with getting married, moving, and working a full-time gig that can be mentally exhausting at times, but all of that is getting better), and I feel like I'm pretty much done with the basics.

I know that it's not 100% complete, but I will fill it in as time goes on...that being said, please feel free to take a look at it, and share any comments/suggestions that you may have.

Also, since this is something different that I'm accustomed to (article blogs), how can I drive traffic to this site? Again, your comments/suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

      Howdy!

Right off the bat I saw "Sample Page" - quick fix!

Site looks nice - simple colors, user friendly, easy to navigate.

As for traffic - write some articles and get some linking going. This will take some time, but start getting several articles written and post them on Web 2.0 properties - link back to your site and this will help with traffic.

I'm sure some other more experienced warriors can offer more.

      Hope that helps!

Oh, and get a privacy policy and contact page up - there are plugins for the privacy policy - search in plugins.

Agreed with earlier poster on colors. It's "apple simple" somewhat, but the bright blue on white is harsh.

There's a lot of whitespace at the top - too much for my taste.

If it's really daily bargains on mac accessories, why not use dailymacbargains.com ? It's available.

The ipad image at the top adds nothing - lose it and tighten up the top - you can put smaller images of mac/apple stuff on the top right area.

I'd probably go with a smaller yellow "buy now" image - it's a bit distracting. Perhaps with more traffic you could test small vs large ?

Why is there no RSS icon to get people to subscribe?

Why is there no "subscribe by email" option? This is the sort of site where you need to be getting in to people's emails every day - they're not going to come back to the site all the time.

Good start and lots of opportunities to take this from good to great

Here is my review after a couple first impressions:

    - I like the color scheme, but it almost seems a little too harsh. My eyes take a while to focus on the content as the blue is extremely intense on the white background.
    - The top header with the site name and a slogan seems pointless. I'd design a logo and replace that with the somewhat also pointless iPad picture (which may be a placeholder at this point, who knows).
    - The content its self seems a little "meh". I get a stack overflow if I try to compute the amount of tech related sites on the internet. What sets your site apart? At this point, it looks to be all automated which would make me click away in an instant.

I really don't see it getting anywhere as it is as there is nothing that would make me want to come back. What information does the site provide that I cannot receive elsewhere? Reviews of products may be helpful, rather than regurgitation, but I may just be harsh.

Remove the word "sample". The header graphic is too tall. Reduce it and more of the content can show up without too much scrolling down. Also, try to fill in the right column with content. Consider adding a search box. Also, an about page, privacy statement page, contact page, etc.

I'd write longer articles. If you're creating posts for each bargain, why not write a unique article about it where you feature the deal at the top, and then expand on it below? This way you can improve SEO opportunities.

Without meaty articles, you'll have a tough time ranking in the search engines. If you drive traffic from other sources, then my comment is meaningless except that longer and more informative articles may improve conversion.

When I clicked the "Read More" links, I expected a blog post about the item. Instead, it goes to Amazon. Of course I wasn't looking for that product, so I'm not particularly interested, but visitors looking for the deals may be interested.

Your WP theme is nice - simple & clean.
As many warriors have said above, the word 'sample page' is there at the top - pls fix that. It'll be good if you can have a section 'featured products' or something like that.

    Other than that, it's great.

Thanks for the suggestions and comments everyone...I've updated it with a lot of your advice thus far.

To answer mgkimsal's question, I chose "daily tech bargains" because I didn't want to be stuck in one specific niche, per se...I'm really testing the waters on this one, as it is a departure from what I'm accustomed to (adult sites and dating/relationships). I left the adult industry four years ago, and had a dating advice blog for awhile...but decided to take it down and left the game altogether back on '08. Despite this, I kept writing about dating/relationships.

Now I have a tonne of articles, but there's other niches that I want to explore, before I get back into the swing of things...call me crazy, but I've got a plan...fingers crossed that it all works out! :-)

BTW, I got rid of the Sample Page...took me a minute to figure it out!
