Newbie in affiliate marketing

Hi,

I am new in affiliate marketing and need some advice. I've heard that WordWatch has created a new affiliate program, their offer is 15usd per qualified lead (active keyword+daily adspend). Is this a good offer ? Does anyone have experience in selling PPC-Bid management ?

Thanks in advance !

      Hey !

Well, the offer is $15 per lead on a free trial offer, so really I think that the only work required is to ensure I bring qualified leads. And according to their affiliate manager, if the leads generated are converting to paying subscribers after the trial is over at a good rate, then I can have access to the higher offer of $15 per lead and 100% of the first month pay out which goes as high as $209. Im not super experienced with this type of product but it seems as though its a pretty good offer. Any thoughts ?

      Thanks

    Mark,

Does this company have a good reputation? Google their name and add "scam" or "review" to the end of it. An affiliate program can promise you the world but if they don't payout then it means nothing. I would do some investigating before deciding to run an offer with an affiliate program just because you are impressed with the commissions you will be receiving.

    Hey !

Thanks for the advice. I googled them and all I found were articles in tech crunch about their rasing capital as well as an interview with their CEO, they seem like a company that is rapidly growing in the AdWords using SMB market, especially considering Google's new SMB partnership program has just been launched. This could be an oppurtunity to jump on something that could potentially be great. I dont know, I guess there is only one way to find out...

    Hello and welcome.

That sounds good but the thing about pay for lead programs is they end as soon as the buyer has as many leads as they want to pay for so don't count on just this.

There are a lot of pay per lead companies that pay anywhere from $1-$20 per lead.

My advice is not to join unknown affiliate program. Usually there's big chance you don't get paid.

      Hi all,

I am pretty experienced with affiliate marketing and what I do when a program seems interesting is : conduct some research about the company (on google). Looking out for reliable industry publications that can provide me with a bit more insight into the legitimacy of the company and by extension, its affiliate program.

WordWatch seems ok to me. Especially because I've found this ranking : www(dot)topseos(dot)com/rankings-of-best-ppc-bid-management-software where WordWatch is #1.

And Ronald, I think your statement is a poor generalization because the affiliate marketing industry is a multi-billion dollar industry for a reason : Affiliate programs pay affiliates more times than not. But I can understand that you have had some bad experiences.

      Good luck !

PPC bid management strategy I have seen is what they call the pay-for-research model. This works well in categories where there is a wide search term landscape. It may be very hard to discover all the search terms up front or the complexity of possible search terms may be overwhelming.
