Craigslist can bite me...

Yes, Craigslist has tightened the reins regarding how many times you can post per account. In my experience, they will only allow you to post 3 ads per 24 hours per account. I did get three phone-verified accounts and even used 2 different computers (as they track IP addresses). It got to the point it wasn't worth an effort.

Try posting again tomorrow--it might have been the "next day" but 24 hours may not have elapsed.

I also didn't have any luck in the biz-op sections. Got clicks but nothing converted.

All this was true 4-5 months ago so things may have changed. But judging by your post, they haven't.

Completely off-topic ... but 'bite' made me think of it ....

I hear they have excellent pie at the airport in Chilliwack - apparently lots of people fly-in just for the pie!

I've also heard that Craigslist is really cracking down on ads placed on their site. Apparently the system considers you a spammer of sorts.

Why not just wait and see how the ads do that you've already placed there, and in the meantime look for other places to advertise.

Craigslist, in my opinion, is not what it's cracked up to be.

      • No, I can't really blame them - it just really makes legitimate people wanting to post legitimate advertisements avoid them, which probably isn't that good for their reputation... They could charge for those ads if they got traffic, but they hardly get any, any they make real business people want to avoid them anyway...

        Oh, and this...

Is this really Craigslists fault, or is it the fault of all the IM'ers who exploited the hell out of it? (no, not saying you were necessarily trying to exploit it)

No different than Ebay. I don't agree with the changes they've been making recently, but in a way, can you really blame them?

Both Craigslist and Ebay are a cesspool for scammers and fraud...and its all from IM.

Not saying they can't handle things a little better, but you have to look at what they are up against.

No different than why other forums like this end up closing down. The BS can just get to be too much to handle.
