How do you determine the value of information?

When you're going to market an info product, how do you determine the value of that product?

For instance, if you had a product that told someone a method on how to make some money (yeah everyone does that I know ), and had a subscription component to give them more resources on a regular basis....

What determines the value? I know that it's partly based on what the market is willing to pay for the product but beyond that? I dunno...

In my particular case, I've got a method that has been earning 10-20x ROI.

As I refine it I expect that amount to increase.

Part of my fear in marketing it is that it would be simple for someone to get the product and share the method and/or share the resources.

Anyhow, thoughts on this would be appreciated.

    How long the product is in the market ...

    Is there any proof that tells me that the product is doing exactly it is supposed to do ...

    Some real testimonials ...

    Most importantly: Is this information is what I am looking for? If it is, I won't be hesitate to go thru the payment process.

    What type of proof? it's so easily faked these days that I always wondered if people believed it or not.

    By the time you get to the testimonial spot, however, you would know how much you're pricing it at - no? Which leads me back to the question of how do I figure what the value of it is?

      it's so easily faked these days that I always wondered if people believed it or not.
      If your proof is not faked, why you worry about what people think or what other webmasters do?

      Reg testimonials: Some people offer a free product in exchange with a testimonial (which personally I don't like this method). But up to you.
