Hey folks. I registered a few days ago domain called guidetour.info, can you tell me the appraisal? Because guidetour.com is called premium domain on GD and its price is 3,888$ if i am not wrong. So, will I earn some money after selling it on flippa?

There are many domains listed whose price is $3,000+ while their value is under $10.

One of the attractions of .com domain-names (compared with that of other extensions) is their potential resale value.

But ultimately, any domain-name (with or without a website attached) is "worth" whatever you can sell it for: the "value" is determined - by definition - by the market.

The people who make money dealing in domains are those with the skill-set of finding customers to whom a domain is potentially "worth" a premium price: technically, they have no intrinsic premium value.

I deal in domain-names a little, myself, and wouldn't instinctively think that guidetour.info (possibly unlike tourguide.info) will prove worth any more than reg-fee; but of course I may be wrong. Having said all that, of course there's nothing to stop you from listing it for sale and seeing what offers you get, Kamal.

Now that is what you call a reply "everyone" should read twice over and act on

The actual valuation on GD for the .com is horse crap, a domain is worth what someone will pay for it, yours is in a niche that "might" make some $$$ if you develop it properly and then flip it

There's some good answers to your question here

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ame-value.html

And .info normally don't sell nearly as high as .com's do.

It is really funny. I've got these domains:
    adsbiz.in
    aboutcricket.in
    costless.in
    gamepark.in (website)
    guidetour.info

and i am ready to sell them for any price and there is still no buyer.

The domain game is definitely a tricky one.

The most success I've had in buying/selling domains is look for people who are selling 4 letter dot com domains. Example VYLT.com. You can find people selling them for about $30 a pop nowadays.

The reason why you should buy these is because all 4 letter dot com domains have been bought therefore it makes is a little more obscure.

I've bought domains like these for cheap and have sold them for $200+ without even having to build a website on it.

      Hope that helps.

I think the domain extension is the problem.

But if you want to add to your collection of ".in" domain-names, I can tell you that (for now!) chestpa.in, litterb.in and lipoprote.in are all available to register, and for only 200 Rupees each. It's a "different use" of the .in extension. I don't say they're worth anything, though ...

Might I suggest reading up on domaining before buying any more domains. It's quite easy to get in the mindset of thinking that you can buy the next "Huge" domain that sells for $XXX,XXX, but from looking at the fact, the domains you are buying are on the bottom of the buyers list being they're all .info's... the majority seek .com, .net. ,.org tld's as they are the Top 3 desired extensions.

Sure a .info, .me, or any extension can be worth gold to the right buyer, but I think you need to dig a little deeper into "keyword research" before venturing into the 'thought' that just because someone else listed a $3k domain you should buy any and/or all of the available extensions.

I have 3 letter domains (with hyphens) that get over 500k [exact] searches monthly, and I haven't had a single bite on my asking price, which is nowhere near $3k.

Currently, I have just under 200 domains, many get 20,000 -300,000+ exact monthly searches and to date, I have had few offers for any of them.

Your best bet would be, develop them, get some traffic, some revenue on them, and either scale them up to better earnings or 'flip' them to prospective buyers.

    Good Luck!

You can't just expect to reg a domain and sell it for thousands the next day, that's foolish. If you registered it a few days ago, it's not worth anything on the reseller market, otherwise it would've been picked long ago. You can always get lucky and find an interested buyer who would pay a decent amount, but it's very unlikely, so I wouldn't build on it.

.info seems associated with a lot of spam websites. I would say your domain is maybe worth the registration fee. I really can't see anyone paying a premium for it.

I'm slightly surprised to see this thread from last November brought back to life.

I see that chestpa.in and lipoprote.in have both been taken, now.

Litterb.in is still available, unsurprisingly (too "English"?).

But not nearly as many as .com is associated with, obviously.
