New guy looking for a little guidance.
Hello warriors!
I've been lurking here for a while now and I've finally decided to take the plunge and enter the IM world.
Currently my plan is to create a blog that focuses on one of my hobbies and creating a blog about it. I've narrowed down which hobby I want to focus on and have quite a bit of knowledge and product information in which to write about.
Since this my first experience in the IM world I'm having a difficult time sorting through the wealth of information that is available. I think I've sorted it down to either using Amazon Affiliates or AdSense
My question is if either of these programs are good for beginners. Do I incorporate just one or both of these or should I use something completely different?
Just to give a little background on myself I want to say I have a least a couple of things working in my favor. I was a web designer for 5 years before I got out of that profession, while my skills are a bit outdated now (HTML and Photoshop) it's something I can get back into for this. My current plan is to use something like Wordpress while I bring my sills back up to speed.
Perhaps my biggest asset is that I currently have a job that I really do enjoy, pays well, and offers me a lot of free time in which to work on this project. I feel that it's time to use my free time at work to some practical use. Thanks to my job I have the desire to work on this side project but not have the fear that this project MUST succeed in order to put food on the table.
My short term goals for the project is simply to make a sale. If I can see that I can make one then I'll know I can make more. Long term goal is to have enough coming in to help pay on my student loans
