Flippa: No Bids Yet - Is that BAD? :(

Hi: I listed a 7 day auction that has 3 days left on it and it doesn't have any Bids yet. But it has 3 watchers. Is that BAD that it has NO Bids yet?

I started it off at $1 with a reserve. I haven't received any questions or comments to date.

People will not start bidding on it until the last day or two. If you want more exposure, wait until the day before the last day and then feature it.

Ok thanks. Should I feature it even if it has no bids at that point? I know before you said wait until it gets like at least 1 bid.

Not until the day before it is due to end, but yes. You will get a lot more views.

You said last day or 2. I'm at last 3 days now. Should I feature it tomorrow at 2 days left? Sorry its my first time, i'm so nervous lol

Flippa, like ebay, can make you very nervous, but just trust in yourself. If it has value, someone will be paying for it. I know you won't be totally relieved until it actually does sell for what you think is a fair amount, but the whole thing will (most likely) end up fine.

If it doesn't, you have that reserve right? So really, no need to worry too much.

I remember when I sold my first site there. I thought it was useless until a few days to last day when I got hits from here and there. Don't know why people wait for last minute. Maybe because they think seller will accept any price as deadline draws near or what?

    Hey jharrr,

I have done flipping on Flippa before so I know and agree with the rest when they say you have to be patient

For all you know, there will be bidders bidding for your website at the last 4 hours... extending the entire auction for another 2 to 3 days

Happened to me a few times so no worries!

Do you still only have 3 watchers? That's not very many. Even on unpopular auctions I'd expect at least 50. I can take a look at your auction if you like and give you some tips (drop me a PM if you don't want it public).

You"ll start receiving bids or in last couple hours (when you site will appear in ending soon list) or will not receive at all. Unless you upgrade it to front page listing ($50).

I just got my first Bid! I have it set so I can approve bids - I read thats the best way so you can screen your bidders and weed out the fraudsters. BUT how do you know they are fraudsters. This person is a new person who only signed up 1 hour ago, lol rolling my eyes. ALSO - if I approve 1 bid from a Bidder, does that mean all their future bids will get automatically approved too? I'm thinking since this person is new and they bid low that I can approve this bid just to get the bidding going. But I don't want to do that if approving his 1 bid will approve all his future bids. His username sounds kind of shady.

    Any advise on this PLEASE?

If his bid is under reserve, just accept it.

You can choose whether or not to always accept their bids. If you don't know them, always accept/reject bids manually.

Ok, so just to confirm - yes, it is under reserve. So if I accept this 1st bid from him and he bids again later with a 2nd bid, can I choose to reject his second bid?

Yes. As long as you don't select "accept all bids" from this bidder.

OMG! I'm so nervous!!! Only 38 minutes left on my auction. It has 6 bids and is just $5 shy of my reserve!!! I'm so mad! I made a newbie mistake and should have accepted the last guys bid with option to lower the reserve!! Now my auction might now sell Do people bid the last few minutes of auction UGGH!! So mad at myself.

Also next time I am going to wait for like the last few hours before making it Featured if that's possible because I featured at like 2 days left and ever since the last day or so it's nowhere near page 1 on featured its like on page 3!! That was a waste I feel I did it too early.

People bid in the last few seconds of an auction...

You really just need to relax... If it doesn't sell, try again!

    Not so great

It did not sell! It would have had I had my reserve like $5 cheaper!!! So I offered a second chance offer to the highest bidder. Hoping he accepts it.

But I learned alot - think next time I'm gonna get the site some traffic at minimum and maybe some sales first. But I see sites selling on there all the time with no traffic and no sales.

Problem is with a site with no traffic, people are only gonna pay so much. And by the time you pay like $80 for listing and featured - if you sell the site for $130 you make a measly $38 bucks if that. Not really worth all the hassle.

So I wonder if you don't do featured can the site still sell for around that amount? Uggh!
