These people are LOOKING for your Offline Consulting Services! Free Leads!

If you want good qualified leads for your offline consulting...

There is no easier way to make contact with a business owner than to look in craigslist and respond to an ad they have written searching for internet help.

You may have to read the ads with an educated eye to understand what they are looking for, but go to the front page of any city on craigslist and look down the jobs section till you find "Web / Info Design"

Look in this section for businesses looking for marketing help, SEO improvement, or anything related to website improvement or traffic generation.

These business owners are looking for ways to increase business and your direct response email marketing is EXACTLY what they want and need.

Reply to their post and send an introductory message asking them for a little more detain on what they want and you will find a real nice person most times ready and willing to listen to your message.

It's worked for me!

Definately opens up a new avenue to locate clients....targeted clients too who are already acknowledge they are in need of our services.

Backpage.com is simular to craigslist and also would work well. I am sure there are a few more...

Maybe someone can run a list of simular sites to craigslist.

Thanks for the tip on this...

For backpage.com they only have the bigger cities and you are
probably going to want to look in jobs then computer/technical.

I picked up this technique from Chris in the Simple cash cow
thread a couple weeks ago and have used it. It's great, I have
been emailing back and forth with one guy in my local area who
posted "webmaster needed" and we got a meeting setup for
this Friday. We have already talked over the phone a few times
and he pretty much just wants to work out prices.

So I can definitely attest to this working. Plus it takes like 5 mins
to check and see if theres some people around you looking for a
      webmaster.

And the bigger the city the more often the leads come in.

I have been fighting with craigslist over an account but I am wanting to place an ad there to catch some traffic too.

Anyone reading have any experience with ads on backpage?

This certainly can be a good way to get your first clients when you're starting out (after talking to business owners you already know).

If you have some experience though I should warn you that a high percentage of business owners posting on Craigslist are cheap and don't make very good paying clients.

So if you already have paying clients and you go through ads in Craigslist one of the first things you do when you talk to these prospects is start to scope out whether they're actually willing to pay a decent price for your services (or anyone's services.)

      Kindest regards,

UPDATE: Looks like you can find some postings under computer gigs as well.

This is wonderful information! I didn't realize that the leads were right there in front of my face. I frequent backpage and craigslist often. I am off to have a look right now and see what I can generate.

    Thanks for the tip.
