Are there alternatives to doing video reviews for my products?

Hi fellow warriors, I have a little problem here:

I run a store that sells mainly home & garden products. I also have website for my store and it's doing pretty well so I hope to close the store and take the business fully online.

The only problem is that most of my products are pretty physical and some of my past customers have said they would like to come down to the store to check out the products before deciding e.g. lawnmower and grills. I thought of doing video reviews for every product to help them get a better idea of its size, construction and feel but to my dismay, found that shooting videos (even a short one) are pretty costly.

Are there other ways for me to give my site visitors a better idea of the physical product? I really like to emphasize to them its size, dimensions and construction (material sturdiness, robustness etc) above all else. My current site has pictures and technical specs but I don't think they suffice.

Appreciate your advice. Thanks.

How about a simple flash animation?

I'm not sure what that would cost to have someone do it for you, but it's definitely an idea worth considering.

There's a lot of competition in the market, so you might find a designer who'd work in your budget while giving favorable results.

Just toy with the idea and see what comes of it.

    All the best!

Couldn't you write text reviews instead? Then you could explain the size, dimensions, etc..

Thanks for the input. I don't know how a flash animation would help, would you like to elaborate more if you dont mind?

I could do text reviews, but the point is to allow the potential buyer a better view/image/imagination of the actual physical product. Say I have a grill up for sale, what can I do to my site such that people can get a better view of the product without having to come down to the store to check it out?

I appreciate the input so far. Thank you and keep them coming.

A flash animation can be used to create instructional stuff - by including the appropriate pictures and a bit of animation you could achieve what a video does. Still, do your own homework before you take any step.

You could take a high res photo of each product, then have a zoom-in feature on your site which allows people to get a good view of the product. Then for certain products, you could take multiple photos so people can get a view from a variety of angles.
