Website Launch Question

Hi all

Im launching a new website with a pysical product. I purchased the domain name last night. It will take me a while to setup the site and organize the logistics/freight etc.

My plan is to set up a basic one page squeeze page for a few weeks/months until i get the site up and running for SEO purposes and at the same time build a list of interested parties so that way when I launch i can blast an email out and have some instant sales.

My question is regarding the current domain and SEO. Id like to start giving the domain some juice, currently the registrar has their typical advertising on the page, but I was thinking that It may be better to either A) setup a quick WP them and smash some articles out which i can send backlinks to or B) hurry up and get my squeeze page organized add the content and keywords into that and then just backlink to the squeeze page?

Which option will make life easier and most importantly begin to get the site indexed and ranked so that when we go live our job is much easier?

Cheers

-Andrei

I like the first idea best. Put up a WP Theme and relevant articles to what your final site will be geared towards. That way any backlinks you build now will be effective for your planned new physical product site down the road! Good luck.

Having the squeeze page seo'd is going to help sign ups but what you could do is go with the first option and perhaps rely on paid traffic for the sign ups!

Option 1... Is the long term option after all and this is what is going to make you money!

Do the squeeze page first as listbuilding is critical.

You can use WordPress for your squeeze page and eventually for the sales site so the infrastructure will already be in place.

      Maybe I could incorporate both?

Have the articles show up, the have a delayed pop up squeeze page or have a floating squeeze on the right hand side offering a free report.

Hmmmmm, that actually sounding like a good idea.

      Anyone else doing something similar?

With that second idea, it sounds like you're confusing a squeeze page with an opt-in form. The whole purpose of a squeeze page is to get people to click on something, whether it's entering their email address or making a purchase. An effective squeeze page is usually super long with testimonials, eye-catching images, "freebies" & all kinds of up-sells.
