Yes, and the author gets lots of refund requests because click fraud is illegal and can get you jailed.

I agree, think if they put those skills towards developing something really awesome instead of doing what they did...

The same question could be asked of Bernie. A billion buckaroos and he was still going. Clearly, after a certain point it becomes about the rush, rather than the money. Ever seen a broke gambler win a million bucks and be broke again a few days later? I have. Actually, I have seen it a few times.

    LOL that is crazy.

But at the same time, if they had all that cash you would think they'd be living somewhere with a weak extradition policy...

Ah maybe not, perhaps I just watch too much Law & Order and Burn Notice. haha

Their alleged "advertising replacement fraud" isn't really all that far removed from what PPV networks do. A step up from it, perhaps... but only a small one. If they had been less blatant about what they were doing, they probably would have gone undetected pretty much indefinitely.

The Russian involved hasn't been arrested and his whereabouts are unknown. I'll wager that he crossed the border back into Russia, which won't extradite any of it's citizens to any foreign country at all... ever. It's forbidden by the Russian Constitution.

Perhaps that explains why we are not making much in Adsense, CPA for the last few years...

To think of what they can accomplish if they just honed all that "brilliance" to something legit....I guess it's true what they say. Some of the most brilliant minds are behind bars...

My kids computer was infected by that same virus
and I knew that it was about click fraud because
of the types of sites you were redirected to. Took
a long time to get it off as well. Norton was helpless.

Yesterday I was trying to download a driver and almost
all the download sites had Adsense images marked
"Download" which are definitely intended to trick the
users into thinking that they are downloading the
program of interest instead of an ad. I really don't
know how they don't get their Adsense accounts
    banned.

You have to look and read very carefully to get the
download link that is relevant to your search. This
    must be hurting the advertisers.
