Traits of Successful Warriors

Let's share what we've noticed about the successful people on this forum.

1. Generosity - the successful warriors that I follow are constantly sharing ideas and giving advice. Just today, I downloaded a free report from one Dr. Mani, which could have easily been sold. That builds some serious rapport with me, and I'll be keen on whatever he's got coming up.

2. Systems - I don't see these people reinventing the wheel. It seems like it's mostly common systems, refined to suit their needs. To give an example of how simple it can be, I read a post today about how a guy basically e-mailed SEO companies, offering to write articles, until he was making good money. There's nothing elaborate about that.

3. Business sense - they think like business people. They realize that in order to be successful themselves, they have to help someone else be successful. I follow the PLR scene quite closely and the successful sellers seem to be all about making other people's lives easier. They think win-win.

4. Consistent - they're never perfect, but they always deliver. The only person that can tell the difference between 90% and 100% is you. Aim for close to perfection and move on. Don't sacrifice momentum for a nearly unattainable goal.

5. Love of the game - what really shines through is that these people love what they're doing. They're not here to get rich quick or because they have nothing better to do... They simply enjoy IM and the benefits it brings to their lives. You can't do this if you don't enjoy it.

Let's hear your observations.

-Tim

Probably the best trait of some of the most successful people (in the world) is their desire to succeed. The fact that they don't allow themselves to give up no matter what their business model is.

They enjoy it and I love seeing their pictures of nice cars, big houses, and exotic vacation locations. I want to enjoy IM as much as they do...

Nice start to the list. Just off the top of my head...

    6. We are problem solvers. Rather than whining about the obstacles, we look for solutions.

    7. We are decision makers. We aren't afraid to make tough decisions, and while we are not careless, we also aren't afraid to make mistakes. We understand failures are not a reflection of our character, but merely feedback to learn from.

    8. We believe in ourselves. We also believe we can be and should be rewarded financially for our efforts.

    9. We think for ourselves. While we are happy to learn from others, anywhere and everywhere we can, we think for ourselves and adapt what we learn to our own unique situation.

      They take action.

This is a common theme in may entrepreneurial books and essays. The biggest key to success many folks will say is simply getting off their duffs and taking action.

      I know it helps me.

    I would add:

Commitment. Most successful Warriors didn't get that way overnight. Instead, they took one method and worked at it, at least until they were able to profit. They didn't hop from one bright, shiny object to the next to get where they are.

I think the business sense is extremely overlooked for most new IMers. Most newbies presume that since they are working from their pajamas that it is different from running an offline business when in reality they aren't much different.

Things like knowing how/when to outsource is a quality that I'd say is predominant in successful IMers as well. A general contractor isn't in the trenches doing the plumbing and electric work and most successful IMers aren't doing every detail of their projects (designing websites, writing copy, creating graphics etc).

11/ We're addicted to serving our customers, delivering the very best we can and then some.

12/ We're addicted to never ever giving up, we'll do whatever it takes to achieve the sale and put more profit back into the business.

13/ We don't see problems, we only see solutions and we love thinking outside of the box to overcome any hurdle which gets in the way.

14/ We love helping other people, we love sharing what we know with others often asking for very little in return.

15/ We're natural problem solvers, we love new information, we love reading about the success of other people.

16/ We recognize that we are living in the now, not in the past, not in the future - everything comes down to what we can do right now to push us towards our goals.

17/ We're addicted to taking constant action, we love seeing things through not jumping from one thing to something else. Once we've decided on a path of action... we'll do everything within our power and pull out all the stops to make it work.

      18/ We don't like procrastination.

19/ We love taking risks - only one who risks is free to be. We enjoy taking risks with our time if not always our money.

20/ We're addicted to new knowledge, we love other people, meeting new people, communicating with others and our infectious enthusiasm for life and business shines through in everything we do.

21/ We love leading from the front.

      Best,

Sometimes we have to be prepared to 'lead' from the back (a gentle push in the right direction).

I like this! It's also a great time to think and make plans.

A trait that's in the same vein is eating a proper diet. For the past four days, I've been eating a lot of junk food, and it's reflected in my work (or lack thereof).

What I see that really separates the field from those succeeding with these traits, as opposed to those still on the fence, is persistence and perseverance. Successful Warriors never give up!

While I would not claim success yet, I can see a different mindset being applied by those here who understand the challenges, and yet maintain a sense of realism to turn the dream into a reality.

    It's a lot of work!

Having the long-term vision for success while undergoing the mechanics involved in the IM process is without a doubt one of the greatest challenges I have ever accepted, and continue to endure.

As the OP's statements implies, keeping it simple and remaining passionate about the work involved until refining the areas of your interests/passions takes time, effort, and some financial investment.

In the end, it takes sacrifice. Finding the right balance of sharing/giving value others, and knowing what to expect (or not to expect) in return for your knowledge is a delicate process indeed. Once that formula is achieved, the skies the limit.

It definitely helps having a place like this where people actually possess the knowledge and mindset to openly discuss these traits, and who understand the personal strength it takes to achieve success online. It's not for the weak, that's for sure!

    Great thread Tim!

The belief that you will have success can be added as well. Didn't see that one between the ones mentioned above, correct me if I am wrong though.

The power of thought is a power that shouldn't be under estimated. Let's quote Buddha on this one..

“All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.”
Some of the more succesful people, read marketers, will not agree. But giving their actions a closer look will reveal that their behaviouristics are draped in the will and thought to succeed.

In this business being generous, having systems, being consistent, smart and having a love for what you do will definitely go a long way. Its easy in this industry to find a lot of people who just want to get your money and leave you behind. It's the ones that have the traits you've spoke about here that will be around for years to come.

Wow, hadn't noticed this thread before. Glad you found my report helpful,
    Tim

Of your 5 points, I'd highlight two as my favorites:

    1. Generosity - As Jay Abraham recently said in a tweet,

"The people that are committed more to the betterment of others are the
    greatest beneficiaries."

Making that a way of life and a mindset can be transformational.

    5. Love of the game - Without a consuming PASSION for what you're doing,
it's tough to last the course. And a passionate competitor will outlast
you to survive - and win.

The one thing I'd add to this amazing list is GRATITUDE. All the overachievers
I've known on the forum are genuinely thankful for what they have - which, in
a sense, conditions them to graciously receive more.

Thanks for starting off this fantastic discussion.

    All success

    Hi Tim,

Quote No 3. - This is true on every way whether it's online or offline. Businesses needs to create a relationship first before they promote or introduce something to that person.

The only thing you didn't mention is 'TRUST' after they became successful they left a trait of themselves to every person or businesses that he or she dealt with. These successful people have a better credentials and trust on the online world. Meaning those successful people would use this as part of their arsenal to make more money online.

Thanks for nice post, although I doubt these traits
are specific only to successful warriors (except for
    the business sense).

Any dedicated forum member has this or similar traits
    on basically any popular forum.

What sets Warrior Forum apart IMO is the willingness of many
members to share business insights on hot topics (=making money
on internet) without no strings attached.
