Remote Screen Capture Software/Program Suggestions?

Anyone have a suggestion of the best and most affordable remote screen capture service or software?

For example: You hire an employee to work for you virtually full-time. You trust them, but, you still want to make sure that they are utilizing their time and your money wisely. Meaning they are not jacking off, when they are getting paid to work for you......

So you have a system set up/installed on their computer that is activated by them from their system, and they are in complete control of it, but they willing use it because you require them to do so.

It would basically take x amount of random screen shots per hour of their desktop workspace...

Any suggestions?

I've heard good things about http://www.remotescreencapture.com/ but definitely do some homework first as I've never used them myself.

spectre (google it). I can't tell you if it is priced right for you... but I can tell you that it works as it says it does and many of my corporate clients like it. I think they ask a fair price for all of its features.

It will grab EVERYTHING that someone does on a computer - without them knowing.

Seems to be over the top, and intrusive for sure, probably a bit more than I would need.

Thanks though, someone may benefit from learning about this....

Auto FTP Manager can do this for you. Set up a PC Folder to PC Folder profile to move files from D to E and schedule it, then move from C to D and so on. The automation features are very useful -

What you can do is ask your full time employee to sign up for odesk.
Hire him from odesk. It has built in feature of screen capture..it takes screenshot of employee's screen & will produce it to you in your account....& You can review it.
      Just a suggestion..

    Lol

I think this might be what you're looking for: http://www.teamviewer.com/en/index.aspx

Seems slightly unnecessary to me though. I never outsource a job I haven't done before, that way I know exactly how long it should take and what to expect from daily reports.

I like teamviewer, but its not really suited for what I am needing.

If I was outsourcing one particular job, your logic above makes sense.

But, I'm not. I have a full time employee working for me 40 hours per week, as a virtual employee.... who performs many things for me.

And I want to make sure they are not working on their own stuff, jacking around, or working on someone elses projects, while they are getting paid to be a fulltime dedicated worker for me.

I have written one my self. If you like I will share.

        Advantages:

        1. Will take screen shot for particular interval, online/offline
        2. Will send images to your mail (1 by one or as a group of many images)
3.Delete the images from the remote system after sending it
        4.Complete stealth
5.No need of installation( Remote user just need to open an excel and enable the 6.macro, this will install the software)
7.Unable to detect by any antivirus
8.Software Size: less than 1 MB

        Disadvantage:

1.Need java in user system, once user install the program ( open the excel and enable the macro), program wait until java is installing in the system, once java installed it will program work
2.Program will start only after one loggoff/restart/shutdown after installation (If necessary the program can force loggoff the user after the installation)

If you still have it I would like to try out your screen capture logger. I'm looking for something that will grab X screenshots at random times over the course of a day and store them in a directory so I can have individual employees review their own internet usage and hopefully police themselves.

While it's not auto logging, VNC is a protocol with several free programs (client/server pair) that allows you to log into a running session on any platform for any computer you own and either take it over or just watch what the screen is doing. You can generally take tour own screen captures too if you're so inclined.

Note: VNC is a protocol, not in itself a program. Programs include RealVNC (Windows), Tight VNC, Xvnc (Linux), Vine or Chicken of VNC (Mac OSX), etc. Some are free, some are pay but if you do your research, you can generally come across free servers (clients are almost always free). Install the server on any computer you wish to view/control.
