How to get "like" button under ad in facebook advertising

Hey Warriors,

I'm running a facebook paid advertising campaign and I'm noticing that when the ad shows up on my profile, it doesnt give the option to click "like" directly under the ad. In other words, you have to click the ad and go to the fanpage in order to click like and I've ran ads before where the user could just click "like" right under the ad.

Anyway, I've been trying to figure out why this is all morning. Anyone know how to get the like button back under the ad on the profile?

    Two things to look at.

    1) Do other ads have like buttons? (that is, a) when logged into your Facebook, and b) the same ads near your ad). Also did you already like it?

    2) Maybe it's because it links to a fan page - perhaps you can't like the Ad of a Fan page, only the fan page itself. You said you've advertised before - did you also advertise fan pages in the past or was it a direct link to your site?

    Speaking economically, it would make sense for Facebook to run those ads according to 2).
    Think about it - they don't get any money if a user clicks 'like' on your ad... but they DO get money if the user clicks the ad and THEN clicks like on the fan page.

    Hey Mattvit, thanks for the effort but I do see that other ads have the "like" directly under the ad and they are directed towards fan pages just like I am. The only difference could be the category of fan page that I chose but I usually choose the "website" category.

    I'm not sure whats happening but I know it has worked for me in the past and my budget was much more effective.

    Anyone else have any ideas?

    If you advertising a fan page then LIKE button will be placed automatically.
    But if you are advertising some other sites then you won't get those like buttons.

    OK I figured out the problem. I outsourced the creation of the fan page and for some reason facebook sees it as an app and not a fan page. Thanks for the help guys...

    You're gonna have to use your fan page to advertise on Facebook to have the like button. Make sure your fan page has a capture page and it is the default landing tab so your advertising won't go to waste and you can make some money out of it as well. Money that you can re-invest into your advertising budget.

    all ads i normally set up automatically have the like button under neath
