Create your very own Secret Mastermind Group - and you don't even have to ask anyone to join
Mastermind groups are all the rage at the moment. I've seen threads on
here talking about them, got emails inviting me to them and a few high
profile marketers selling exclusive ones.
The benefits, I know, can be outstanding. I listened to Eben Pagan and
Frank Kern talk about their own - just a bunch of like-minded folk getting
together on a regular basis and 'raising the bar' for each other. Success
breeds success and all that.
Surrounding yourself with success-oriented people, people with similar
business aims and values seems eminently obvious to me. The easiest way
to demonstrate this would be to think of the reverse situation. Maybe
you've experienced something similar to me, maybe at some point in your
life you've had a friend that was terminally negative. Every time you'd meet
them they'd manage to bring you down and focus on what's not possible.
Their negativity would eventually rub off on you and you'd begin to believe
that you'd never achieve anything. It was just comfortable to get inside
their limiting beliefs. Thankfully, I broke off that friendship. I realised it
wasn't healthy.
That's why I'm in support of masterminds - not just for business, but for
life.
I'm fortunate to have a mastermind group. I am part of a group of friends
who are extremely supportive of each other. We meet often, at least once
a week and chat, brainstorm and generally motivate each other.
The other mastermind group is my secret one. (Well it was until this post)
It's full of like-minded business people who are willing to help each other.
You can ask questions, give suggestions, have a laugh and make money
while you're at it. It won't come as too much of a surprise if I told you it's
here on the Warrior Forum.
Now, I'm quite new to the forum with barely 200 posts to my name,
however, even I've noticed there are some rules to make your Warrior
Mastermind successful - it's easy to mess this up and for it to become like
your negative friend.
If you're new to the forum, (or indeed even if you're more experienced)
take the time to wander about a bit. Watch how individuals interact with
each other. Make notes of people you like, you respect and maybe ask to
be their friend (Ahh!) Also make note of those negative ones, the whiners
and complainers - and avoid them.
Don't be tempted to join in the whinging threads that sometimes appear.
By all means put your point across in a discussion, but learn to walk away
if it's not constructive and not serving your own outcomes. Rest assured
that there'll still be plenty of folk that will continue the argument for you.
Have some fun too. Join in with some of the banter that goes on - it's all
part of the community and helps you become part of it too.
