Is the personal development niche still profitable?

Is it? or is it too saturated, with too many people competing for the same type of thing? I have been looking to make a blog/website where i can slap some adsense on, but really connect with my audience and possibly recommend products through affiliate links in the future.

I want something that is not too narrow, as I would like to be able to continue to write about it. Many different topics to write about. I want fresh new content. I thought about doing a health/fitness/supplement blog or website but i dunno if I would be able to compete with that even larger niche.

Any recommendations?

Find a good sub niche with low competition and directly Target that traffic, any niche is still profitable if you adapt!

I'd say that the personal development market is as profitable as ever.

You just need to narrow it down a little to create your own little space within the market.

      eg.
      Personal Development in relation to:

      spirituality
      meditation
      social aspects
      confidence
      relationships
      logic and reasoning
      yoga
      meditation
      hypnosis
      grief
      self esteem
      leadership skills

There's plenty for you to profit from. Just pick something that you like and put 100% effort into it.

It is a HUGE market with a lot of room for people still! You just need to narrow it down, pick a sub-niche. If you are really hoping to connect with your readers I would also highly suggest looking into using Twitter and Facebook to drive traffic once things are set up.

Personal development niche is competitive but that doesn't mean that you can't be unique!

I'd find me a long-tail keyword to rank for. Once you have your main keyword just build a website around it.

What products are you trying to sell? Ebooks?

I was thinking adsense at first and then maybe amazon products. Like books or dvd's etc.

would it be a bad idea to make a relatively large site that covers a lot of the personal development niche?

Relationship advice is a great niche cause you can then promote very good dating offers.

thanks guys. What if I were to include a lot of health/fitness articles and info? or would that just be too many different ideas even though they really all can be used in personal development.

Personal development is an evergreen niche. Pick a profitable sub-niche & monetize from there. Still has lots of room for growth.

If you don’t have enough knowledge about personal development and you want to make money with Adsense, I don’t think that this is a good choice for you.

You will easier make money if you’ll do something related to internet marketing.

Personal development is a field that requires specific experts, while internet marketing is a huge field where even children are respected if they can teach you how to make money somehow.

I’m in the personal development niche and I’m having a moderate success because I’m a real expert in my field. I’m not an internet marketer. I'm merely a business owner.

The competition you find on personal development is fierce, and you have to beat many very strong competitors who are real experts.

If you are just looking for a way to make money online, do something related to internet marketing. All doors are open to internet marketers. All the other niches have numerous complications.

is it really that easy to make money from the internet marketing niche? I just really have an interest with personal development/health and fitness. I know a lot about dieting, workouts, and supplements. And personal development is something I need in my life right now so I feel like I could help myself and others somehow?

I would say yes, I have a personal development site that gets plenty of traffic. It is in a sub niche as many of the other warriors have advised.

I would suggest not making your site too broad. It make it harder to rank in search engines and also require a lot more content to be written. A better idea is to become an authority on a sub-niche of personal development.

far from way to saturated, when you truly learn to market you will no longer look at people as your competitors, they are all future joint venture partners and affiliates.

I personally won't go into a market unless there are at least 150-200 info products on the topic, but the more the better.
