Firefox 8.0 - is it crashing upon opening?

I updated to Firefox 8 when notified the other day. I cannot launch it at all without it crashing. Does anybody have a fix for this?

    Works fine here too. Try it in safe mode: start>run>firefox -safe-mode
    or disable all add-ons

    Just get back to previous version - I had to, since the 8.0 was just crashing ALL the freakin time - I couldn't even open it.

    Firefox is getting worst every update.

    I upgraded to FF 8 a couple of days ago, but it tells me I have FF7.1. Not sure that it matters. But the browser keeps locking up. Just during typing this it stopped a half dozen times for the text to catch up to my typing. I will load a page and then go to scroll down or click a link and the page is just a graphic and nothing works for a while. If I try to click on anything, I get the spinning circle and a not responding notice up top.

    I am just about ready to go back to IE or download Safari. I am used to FF and the plugins I use and don't want to change, but this is getting to be a big PIA.

    I used to be an avid fan of FF. Now that they started with they stupid monthly update cycles, I am going to say goodbye and use Opera.

    With EVERY new version, I have issues on multiple computers: Crashes; plugins won't work; etc. etc.

    I'm sick of it.

    If you're running Roboform with FF 8.0, there are issues. Make sure you update both to the most current releases. Had similar problem you describe, and this solved it. HIH

    I upgraded then did a restart on my computer, haven't had any issues with it after that. Before the restart it did crash a couple times. I am thinking its the add-ons creating the issue.
