I have a niche I'm interested in, but clueless how to build list

Hey Warriors,

I've dabbled in internet marketing off and on for the last year and a half. I have only done Adsense as far as generating revenue goes, and now I am really interested in affiliate marketing.

The niche that I would like to market in involves working college students and those attending community college.

I belong in this niche myself, and there is a lot of information and content that I can provide people. I feel that I can attack this niche from many angles - transferring to university, student loans, credit card debt, admissions essays, Amazon affiliate books, study guides, time management, etc.

However, I am clueless on how to grow a list from scratch. And I am also concerned that this market may not necessarily be a market that buys.

Now there is so much content that I can provide. In the last 2 hours, I have fully written 10 email autoresponder messages that link to amazing articles on networking, personal finance, hacking your education, etc. But I am wondering if the market just will not buy when I promote something.

What do you guys think?

I'll give you a basic way to build a list and you can branch off there if you want.

    1) Create a squeeze page towards your niche
    2) Paid traffic(PPC, PPV, PPI) to drive traffic to your squeeze page.
    3) Provide content to your list
    4) Every once in a while, provide them with an product(Clickbank, CPA, etc)

Also, SEO is a great way to drive free traffic to your squeeze page if you have the time and resources to do so.

It's not much, but maybe that'll give you a good start.

I already have the domain set up, I have OptimizePress to create the squeeze page, I know the free content content that I would like to provide. I just do not know where to find target traffic and if the market would be willing to buy.

well, that is why I advice people to do market and keyword research before they buy the domain.

I have found the fastest way to make money doing the same amount of work is to sell what people are buying.

Before you go to too much more work, find out if people are even searching for what you are selling in the google keyword tool.

If so, getting traffic can be done but it will be a harder time if no one really wants what you got.

I have posted answers in a lot of other threads on ways to get traffic, just search for traffic. I also go over this in my list building emails.

Would they be willing to buy? yes

Would they be willing to buy what you try to sell them? Who knows till you try.

If you are part of the niche ask yourserlf if the things you plan to promote are something you would buy? If no why would the others in this niche buy them?

In the end you will never know for sure till you build the list and try.
