Default Offline Consulting Websites Used as a "Tool" VS a Destination

Hey Warriors and Friends

I wanted to just describe the approach I think makes sense in moving forward with your offline consulting business.

The biggest challenge I saw people talking about in the Cash Cow thread was the "How To" and "Credibility" issue.

I know so much really valuable information was discussed there, but I wanted to share my angle on it.

I believe it is important to teach the client rather than approach it like a sale.

I ask a new client a simple question. "Are you getting everything you were hoping for out of the internet?"

I have had people say they have good things they like happening but no one has said yes. WHY?

Because not one of them can talk to their customer base in a day.

So, then I ask the next obvious question. "If you wanted to tell all of your customers in the city about a sale you were having tomorrow, how would you go about doing that?"

I have heard "The phone" and "put it on my website" but they plainly understand that they can't do it.

So then I ask, "Would you like to be able to communicate with all your customers as often as you like in under an hour?"

The answer is always yes.

I give them my business card and ask them to go visit the website on it and opt-in to the email newsletter and say if they do that I will set up a short 15 minute free consultation where they can learn how to communicate with all of the customers they have, and that I even offer a 15 day free trial.

I say it's been great to meet you and I get a card if they have one and leave.

I take notes of who I visit and move on to the next person.

teaching the people seems to work better than trying to convince them so the website I set up just walks them through what direct response email marketing is and how they can benefit from it.

The site itself and the emails the client gets do all the selling so I don't have to.

This approach works for me and if you think like I do it mught be useful to you too

Either way I hope you find great success with offline consulting

Cheers!

Chris,

This is the key to selling any high-level intangible, especially when the buyer is unfamiliar with the product or service being presented. I ran into that every day in my consulting business.

Yes having a well designed direct response website of your own is a GREAT tool when you're selling your services to local business owners.

In fact if you're not getting that set up in your down time I'd kind of wonder what's wrong with you.

But I think it's also important to point out that if you go through the people who had success in that that Cash Cow thread getting hired and the hundreds of people I've helped who've gone out and got paid checks of $1,000, $2,000 and more...

Almost NONE of them had consulting websites when they first got hired (not to say that wouldn't have helped).

But the real key to getting hired is in the questions you ask and the rapport you build with a business owner...and flat out just talking to business owners in the first place.

Having a website is optional to getting hired.

It will help but if you're wanting to make money out of the Offline Gold business model and wondering what to do first...GO TALK TO SOME BUSINESS OWNERS.

It really is as simple as that.

Kindest regards,
Andrew Cavanagh

I recently took Chris up on his offline website system - I've been consulting since the late 80s but since gettting Andrew Cavanaghs' offline gold report, and Scott Millions/David Prestons webinar and OTO offer...

...I've changed up my biz model for 2009 to be able to scale based on the great diamond and gold tips from the wso's I bought...

- and adding Chris' site to my business - well - all I can say that so far in less than 7 days of putting it up - it was one of the keys to landing a $50,000 contract!

Thanks to everyone for providing such a great collaboration of info around offline consulting!

cheers, Maria Gudelis

Hey Maria,

You know we all have a lot to learn from you. You are absolutely tearing up the offline consulting formula and even though we know what tools you are using, it would be killer information to know a little bit about your techniques, if you would be willing to share.

Not interested in any "If I told ya I'd have ta kill ya,.. " situations,... lol

Cheers

Chris Endres
