What's the Difference between Social BOOKMARKING + Social MEDIA ?? {are the the same} ??

what is the difference between them? which is the Broader category?

and which one 'fits' inside the other? - which one is a sub category of the other?

    social bookmarking refers to sites like "delicous". these sites are kinda like your browsers bookmarks system, but they let other users see what you are bookmarking and many of them let you see how many times a particular site has been bookmarked. they also build "groups" of sites that lots of people like or find useful. so doing a search for a topic on a social bookmarking site will return only results other users have bookmarked. and since people usually only bookmark sites they find important, your results will usually be better although usually much more limited.

    social networking refers to sites like facebook, myspace, and twitter. where groups of users visit the sites mostly to meet and stay in touch with friends and family.

    social media refers to sites like youtube or flicker. where groups of users share media content... ie video, audio, or pictures.

    thats really more a matter of opinion than fact.

    there are all really there own category under a sub category of web 2.0 sites.

    the only thing they have in common is the social part, but they dont really fit under each other, more in line with each other.

    i guess if forced to give an answer i could make the best argument that "social networking" should be the parent directory.
