That'd be good if it wasn't GoDaddy.

Seriously one of the worst interfaces for hosting I've ever seen. So messy... everything is everywhere and hard to navigate. And they use the same old and tired cPanel interface.

And they have all these ridiculous charges like privacy.

Dreamhost is WAY better. Anyone who doesn't use Dreamhost clearly hasn't tried them before!!!

I must agree.. I use 1&1 to to buy my domains. They recently had a special from the month of Sep to the end of Oct. All .com domains for $1.

I used GoDaddy when I first started and had too many problems so I just dont deal with them as a whole. I use hostgator and absolutely love them

I dont' agree with you. I use Godaddy managing a dozen of domain name. It's easy to use and all the time there's coupon so I get my domain names for real cheap. The interface is quite complex I agree but if you know how to navigate through it, it's great. It also have a great Support.

I have used DreamHost and found HostGator's support and servers to be much better. However, the only good thing I can think of for GoDaddy is actually registering domains - I wouldn't use anything else they offer

      Too true.

That's an interesting comment about HostGator support. As a techie, I've found Dreamhost support to be great (as I've only ever had advanced questions).

Glad I found someone else who agrees re: GoDaddy

A big part about HostGator is the convenience of their live chat - I could just go in, post the problem, and check back in several minutes. I don't have to wait hours for an email response or be placed on hold on the phone.

You have to go through the entire process until you hit the order form that shows the actual pricing - then the coupon box will be on the right side.

        Gotta disagree.

Once the domain nears expiration I'll be moving it over to Namecheap!

I just used it on a domain I was really thinking about getting. It's worth risking $1 even if I never develop it.

    Thanks given.

I agree with you 100%.. I remember I was on the phone with them at 3 in the morning and it was quite pleasant. My rep was actually a blogger so while she was fixing my blog, she was telling me about her experiences.

I've heard of people using "other" companies and they kept getting put on hold to go ask this and that...

I've been with Hostgator for over a year and i'll never leave.. They've got me for life...

I used to go with GoDaddy before, until today when I found quite some differences in prices, pretty big.

    I wanted to buy a .co.uk domain. On domain.com it's ~$60/2 years. On GoDaddy.com it's ~$6/year. On NameCheap.com it's ~$4/year.

Obviously went with NameCheap and will continue to do so from now on, buying domains there was so much easier compared to GoDaddy where it was a pain the $^%

Thanks for the coupon. The best domain registrar that I have used is netfirms, they've got free domain privacy and a very clean interface. Their prices and billing system is also good.

I usually use Namecheap to buy domains, but I will jump on this offer !

Hostgator comment : I used to like them a lot, but recently they suspended all my blogs because of cache problems, WITHOUT giving me ANY advance warning. I lost 3 days of revenue because of them doing that. At least they could have given me 24 hours notice beforehand IMO.

I now have several different hosting accounts and only keep 5 blogs on Hostgator. Hawkhost is working well for me.

Namecheap and Godaddy are both good domain registrars. Considering Namecheap with free domain privacy, the price is very attractive. For those who do not need this service, Godaddy is cheaper by using coupon codes you can easily find online.
