Hi guys, okay so this is what i read in news today.

Just a few seconds ago in my local news.


7 Charged in Web Scam Using Ads - Yahoo!


This is totally a whole new level of .... [i dunno what to say]

you nv know if you have been affected.

Wondered why ur ads or campaigns dont fair well?
maybe this is the problem.
just maybe.

    Yeah ... that's quite a story. Glad they were arrested. Goes to show the long arm of the US law enforcement can reach overseas as well as at home.

      i think its because some of the sites affected are owned by US people.

      Wall Street, new york times etc.

      because i read before that the authorities will investigate reports that involves a US citizen. So either the US guy is the victim or the US guy is the accused, then they will investigate.

      it is stated on their internet crime website.

      and 500,000 computers hacked from US. thats why they stepped in.

    It's not new, that has actually been happening for the last 10-15 years (i.e., I forget if it was sitepoint? or something similar, but 3-4 years ago had the iframe redirect), but I guess that is the first time I have heard of people being charged at that level/scale.

    I thought this quote near the bottom of the article was interesting.

    The malware affected both Windows and Mac operating systems.
    I would have thought Windows would be immune to it.
