If U.s based does it make sense to get U.K VPS?

Im getting a vps to run some seo software. I just ordered from some company and checked for them to give me a U.S vps prior to checkout. I just got my login inforamtion and realized they gave me a uk vps. I haven't installed any software on it yet because i don't want to waste the unlock code.

When it comes to speed, will it make a difference? I would assume if I'm U.S based getting a vps in the U.S would be much faster and I googled the topic and some have said that the closer the vps is to your country the better.

What do you guys think? Does it make a difference? Any experience with this? Thanks

Yes, get a server closer to where you or your audience resides. It will make a difference in speed.

Ok. Thanks for the input. The thing is though I don't plan on using it for hosting my sites or anything like that. All i plan on using for is for is to run some sofwares i.e scrapebox, etc. Does location still make a difference in this case?
