The SECRET to success on the WF.... REVEALED!

Hi Warriors,

I recently thought about "What makes the most successful Warriors stand out from the crowd?" - and I found the "secret", and I can prove it!

That's right: The secret that most of the "big names", most of the "WSO of the day" creators etc. share!

And I am going to share it with YOU - so that you can be more successful, make more money, and and and....

And the secret is...
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

PROVIDE VALUE! "GIVE" to the WF, and you will RECEIVE!

Yes, it's as simple as that!

Now to the figures that support this.

If you provide "value" to the forum, people will "Thank" you. So the more "thanks" you receive, the more value you have given to your fellow warriors, right?

So what I did was I created a little spread-sheet, had a look at some of the best-known warriors and the creators of the last WSOs of the day, and calculated their "Thanked-to-Post" rate - and look what I found:

The top providers of value are also the "top shots" when it comes to success!

While many warriors have low "thanked-to-post" rates (less than 0.1), these "top dogs" are ALL above 0.3!

I am sure you know some of these names :

This list goes on and on and I just picked some names that came to my mind.

So what's the lesson for you?

Try to provide value to this forum with every post that you make! Don't just randomly post "Mhmmm, thank you!" and "I agree!" messages - try to add value to the discussion, try to "give" to other warriors - and success will follow!

Cheers,
Rob Konrad

Having a Homer Simpson moment here..Doh!!

Apparently, dividing the # of thanked posts into the thread count isn't right...

    I think my calculator's brokened!!!

Statistics without context. Always an iffy game to play.

There are a whole bunch of factors you haven't considered in those calculations. I'll only mention one: A LOT of the people you missed were here and posting for a long time before the Thanks button was installed. That happened around August or September of 2008, if memory serves.

Adjusting for that would completely re-order your stats. Brian Kindsvater, for example, would move way up the list. Big Mike would have to be very high in the grouping as well. Allen's numbers would explode.

And that's just the purely objective end of the thing. If you start looking at the social aspects of it, the number of thanks a person has quickly becomes a rather nebulous basis on which to measure anything.

Here's another statistic which is roughly as meaningful as the ones you posted: On the average, every human being has approximately one testicle.

        Hi Paul,

I really had to laugh at the testicle stat .

You are right - it's not the ultimate wisdom. Also, as I said, this is by no means a "leaderboard" or anything - just some randomly picked guys.

My main intention was to encourage people to provide value instead of posting oneliners that add nothing to the discussion...

That cracked me up! I'll have to remember that one.

A noble cause, thanks for the effort, Rob! I should caution you though, Bill Farnham cheats -- he makes too many good jokes. People try to report him for one-liners but they're laughing so hard they miss and hit the thanks button.

          Rob,

I love what you're trying to do here. You just made this newbies year!

Paul is right though. There are so many people that add value to the forum especially in other sections of the forum, who work quietly in the background, changing lives with their generosity and kindness.

I can think of four from the top of my head that should be on that list:

          John Durham
          Istvan Horwath
          John McCabe
          Martin Luxton

          Di

Sigh ... My validation tank is full

    Hi Rob

Your highlighted stat is probably not as significant as you might think since 'thanks' is the number of times a poster has thanked. You could score well on your 'thanks/post' ratio simply by going nuts on the thanks button A better ratio might be thanked posts v posts, but then I am not completely convinced about that either.

    Nevertheless, some interesting stats there.

    Hi Art, Will,

I actually used the "thanked" values, of course... I just wrote the wrong description in the column header. Language barrier, I guess :-)

I corrected it, should be okay now.

I fully agreed with you, provide values without expecting something in return is the way to find success on WF or even outside of WF!

Does "thank you" button count equal sales, money
and profits? It is all about giving value, in my
    opinion.

Sometimes people don't even know how
to use the thank you button even when they feel
    like thanking you.

Yes i think it is a simple law of attraction.

To receive you have to GIVE. And the more you give the more you receive.

It is powerful if you know how to use this properly but it does all come back to VALUE.

    Hey Rob,

This reminds me a lot of what Jason Fried says when it comes to marketing.

Instead of just hiding things. Give back. The informations already out there in some form or another, so it may as well be from you.

I've seen some high returns on this lately and by "giving" back. I have built a squeeze page that actually gets a high 76% CR at the moment

But the thing is. I'm straight up just giving away an entire method, the entire process of how things work and how someone can make money with the process today, versus telling them they have to spend money on a product right now.

In return I've received multiple emails/messages telling me that they want to join.

    The lesson learned.

They see that I have knowledge in certain areas, so they simply want to "thank" me for that knowledge.

If you consider that with the "thanked" estimates that you came up with, maybe my example works into play

    Thanks for the share.

Um...Rob? It's really kewl to have you put me on the list, but like Paul points out, the figures are deceiving. I write some really long posts and most of my thanks are just people reacting to the fact that I finally stopped "talking".

Actually - I post in the OT a lot so my ratio is only apparently solid. I have no clue how many posts I've actually written.
