When do you use the WSO thread and when do you use a website?

As the title above mentioned, I was wondering when do you guys use the WSO which cost you a larger sum of 40$ and when do you guys use a website which is initially less than 40$ for your product selling purposes? There are pros and cons to this but I just want to hear some good points so that I can consider a good time to either put my products up for a WSO or website for selling purposes.

Thanks

    1. The WSO forum gives your product immediate exposure.

    2. The WSO forum has a built in social proof element that you can't replicate on your own website.

    3. Why do you need to choose one or the other? Why not do both? Just make sure your price on the WSO forum is less than it is elsewhere as that is one of the rules of the WSO forum.

    4. You might be saving $40 by posting the offer on your own domain but if no one sees it then you won't make a dime. You will have to drive traffic to your offer eventually and this will cost time and/or money. Remember, the $40 is just for your initial WSO listing. Every time your offer drops off page 2 you are entitled to bump it back to the top at a cost of another $40.

Posting in both sites could be possible but you know I wouldn't do something like that since if you google'd my product and saw two links to my product and clicked at both. You will find out that the WSO forums are cheaper and will most likely buy from that link, leaving the other site kinda useless and by having a website, I guess it would mean that you had more control of what you could do like posting adsense or affiliate links.

Although I am aware that the traffic in the WSO is readily available compared to having a website so this is 2 things I am guessing one has to consider. There are ways to do a proper SEO for sites but probably its the con as it takes more effort and some money for those who need SEO experts.

I didn't know you had to pay another 40$ to bump it up back to number one... That kinda sucks

      Thanks for your clarification, WillR

I do not see this as an issue at all. If you are really worried about this happening then just give your product a different name on the Warrior Forum - no big deal.

Besides, if people searched and found the cheaper price on Warrior Forum what does it matter? A customer is a customer. I would much rather have someone purchase a cheaper copy than no copy at all. I can't see people searching Google though if they are already on your website... and even if people did it would be the VERY small minority.

It's no different to any other form of advertising. If you want more visitors then you have to pay more money.

Good point willR but how about ppc on wso? Does that work? Why not get outside audiences that are not warrior members since it is cheaper and can be better in some way. I think 40$ can get you a lot more ppc visitors than bumping.

Why not change things a little so your product actually looks like a different product on your website, different graphics, cover, text etc.

Not useless. For a few reasons:

        1. It shows you do actually have the product on sale for a higher price and that those who buy in WSO get a better deal.

        2. If you're using a sales system like DigiResults, you can have the product listed at the higher price and set your website as it's URL, then you also set up a discount coupon for the WSO. Now, when the order button displays in the WSO, it shows the regular price with a line through it, and the WSO price displayed - that's good proof of a deal.

        3. Your affiliates get a choice of which one they want to promote (I get affiliates promoting the regular price offer at times). Also, if you have the product promoted in another product (say as a backend or followup to that info product) you can create a link to your website, as you know it will always be there.

I use WSO for immediate exposure... like what WillR mentioned previously

You pay $40 and you get to put your offer in front of really targeted traffic

I use it to capture leads then create websites and offers to sell to them in my list

Alright, thanks for the clarification guys!

Now I just want to know if any of you guys are willing to put a non-IM niche product like health products up to the WSO section. I hardly see any of you guys doing it but I can only see a few and some of them include pet niches and game niches so far. Everybody knows this is an IM forum and most people come here for IM not health.

      I want your views

      CHEERS!
