What Microphone Do You Use For Recording Your Tutorials?

I am starting to record a new series of tutorials next month and I want to invest in a good microphone for my PC. In past, I had problems with not been able to filter the background sounds.

Any recommendations please..

I use an Audio Technia AT2020 USB condenser mic. In regards to the background noise most good microphones are going to pick it up. I then simply remove all the background noise using the enhance audio feature in Camtasia. Make sure you record 5 to 10 seconds at the very beginning of the video without you talking. This allows you to select that section and remove that background noise from the entire video.

I use this: Blue Microphones Yeti USB Microphone - Apple Store (U.S.)

There's also the "Snowball" microphone, made by the same company, that's quite well reviewed and I believe it's also quite a bit less.

    Cheers,

I've been using a Blue Snowflake for many years: Blue Microphones | Snowflake - Head and Shoulders Above Any Comparable Portable USB on the Market!

It's easy to use, inexpensive, and folds up to nothing, so you can take it anywhere you like.

most headsets (wired or wireless) work... i prefer logitech, but you'll find mixed reviews. i personally have the wireless version. i use it more for VOIP. i agree w/the reviews that talk about comfort... you can stretch the sucker to adjust for your big head, but the comfort could be much improved despite adjusting the band.

    USB Headset H360

sound clarity from my headset is crisp, as i've done recordings w/it as well.

it'd prolly be best to work w/a headset vs. a regular mic... headsets usually have the noise cancellation option as well as the fact that it's right up to your mouth and made for clarity when talking.

just my limited and direct experience...

Considering my main hobbie is audio/music production. I would highly recommend the Samson CO1U USB Studio Condenser. It's very affordable, durable and has been with me for a few years now. It has a great microphone stand! It picks up some amazing audio. I've done the majority of my webinars and tutorials with this mic! Never had any problems! :-)
