Best way to secure a download page?

If I am creating a WSO with a OTO, I am a bit confused on the process of protecting the download page.

Let's say I run a WSO through Warriorplus. Normally, I would just give Warriorplus access to the file and that is it. But, if I want to have a OTO, I would have to create a download page, correct? That way the buyer could sign up to my list for updates, see the OTO and click the link to get their download.

My question is what is the best way to protect the download link? I have DLGuard, but I cannot see how I could use it with WarriorPlus.

Any suggestions? This question has plagued me for some time....

    If you're on a WordPress site and if you don't need anything too complicated, then wp file lock works fine. It's fairly cheap. It does a good job. And, it's easy to install and use.

      Yes, it is a Wordpress site. I think I *should* be able to use my DLGuard but I cannot find instructions on what to do....

    Hi,

    I am pretty sure that you should be able to use DLGuard, as I have heard from lots of people that it's a good product, used by many marketers who need what you are wanting.

    As I don't use DLGuard, I can't advise on that specifically. But since you are using WP, I can recommend a plugin that will do what you want. You can check it out here:

    Apparently I cannot use DLG according to the product developer, so I will have to use another option. I know there must be a simple way that this is done because everyone does it!

    You can use this plugin WordPress › Download Protect « WordPress Plugins but I think it doesn't work with the latest wordpress updates.

    I have set-up something like that in Wordpress 3.2.1 but I used S3Media Vault Plugin and hosted the files on amazon S3. the other thing I know is to use a PHP script that will hide the links of your files to prevent direct link download.
