Key to a Great Launch

Hi Everyone!

I am just on Clickbank and realized I have only been looking at the first 3-4 pages in all product categories. So today I decided to click back through the pages, and currently I'm on page 44 just in health and fitness...440 ebooks and I'm still not to the end. My question to you then would be, what makes some ebooks get to the front of clickbank, say in the top 20 for any category? What makes it different from #440? Are some of these people just not promoting at all? Obviously, the affiliates don't want to promote a product that is not towards the top, but then I ask, how does one clickbank product ever get to the top? Just one or two very successful affiliates who can really push product?

Sorry for ending my post with like 10 questions but I think they are all very relevent questions for IMers. I bet simply taking the time to think about these questions will make you more successful. I would like to know your thoughts.

Hi, Clickbank gravity is one major factor which attracts affiliates. You need more affiliates making successful sales before you have a high gravity. And in order to get many affiliates, you need a high gravity. It is a Catch 22 situation.

However, what you can do is to approach successful affiliates of your competitors and offer them a greater reward. How do you find them?

Run a search for your competitors. Search in Web 2.0 pages, Google, etc and see who is promoting your competitors' products. Approach them.

Thanks for that. So it seems that there is almost a limited supply of successful affiliates. I agree it is a Catch 22. All the successful affiliates and almost all affiliates promote Clickbank products with with high gravity. If an affiliate really wanted to be successful wouldn't they focus on a product with less competition but an equal number of searches in a different niche.

Another thing to look for is the percentage of sales coming from the merchant.

Clickbank shows a percentage of sales coming from the affiliates and those coming from the merchant.

If you can find a merchant that is in the top ten of any category who is making btw 60%-70% of the sales. Try and find out how he/she is doing it. That way it is just you and the merchant.
