Anyone else getting weird refund requests or is this a scam?

I sell a few products on Clickbank and am generally pretty happy with their service. Recently I have noted a number of refund requests which are odd. The reason why I say this is first of all I can never find the name listed in my reports. A few years ago, some people were claiming that Clickbank was "gaming" the system and not reporting all sales, but I don't think that is what is happening here.

My thoughts were that the person had simply made an error in the vendor.

The reason I think this may be some sort of scam is that the emails always state that they purchased a DVD of my product thru Clickbank. Now, I am pretty sure that Clickbank does not sell any products via DVD and I certainly don't.

Anyone else had a rash of these sorts of emails recently? I would normally just delete the emails but I do reply on the off chance that this is genuine, and some poor old granny is sitting at home worried about her purchase.

Thanks for your input

Well, after doing a search on this forum for "Clickbank" and "DVD" I see that vendors are allowed to do a "hybrid" delivery whereby they can offer an electronic download AND a physical version of their product (normally a DVD). So I guess that answers my question.

Having said that, I do not and have never offered such an option. I still don't quite understand why they would contact me when I am not the vendor. Still seems to me that it may be a scam if I am getting a couple of these, but none-the-less I will respond and tell the person to double check their receipt and contact the vendor or Clickbank.

Hi Phil, I've never had that happen, but will keep an eye out for it.

I'm not keen on Clickbank because they will refund anyone - even without a valid reason. In my opinion, they need to only do refunds for people with valid reasons, otherwise we have the issue that now occurs - anyone and everyone will ask for a refund. They have the product, so asking for a refund means they get it free.
