PR9 Domain for Sale on Flippa

I was browsing Flippa and saw this PR9 domain for sale.

I am wondering why this website get PR9 with only two backlinks according to Yahoo Site Explorer.

It's a 301 redirect from Grant.gov... it's a fake PR. I presume a real PR 9 domain would go for a lot though.

A real PR9 domain would be on the scale of CNN, yahoo, wikipedia etc..how someone can even REMOTELY think this is legit (seeing that pathetic site) is beyond me.

Flippa is full of scams like this and the problem is a lot of people new to the world of internet marketing don't know what too look out for. It's such a shame! But it's not just flippa. A lot of these expired domains websites are doing the same thing. Now and then they will post up a few pr8 domains using redirects and let all the newbies waste all their hard earned cash on them.

Just be careful mate and research a lot before making a decision on buying anything.

That's a clear rip-off, I've heard that flippa is used by scammers though never believed it.... but now can't deny it either.

Guys how do you recognize that the domain has a fake page rank? I always look for yahoo link domain and if there are less than 50 backlinks on PR5 domain, it is probably fake. But I would like to know your opinion.

Its funny how the seller just makes it out as though he just stumbled across this PR9..

by the way, I love the graph at the top of this page, it really puts PR into perspective!

Detecting fake PR is easy. Do a google info search.

But if you're obsessed with useless PR you deserve to get scammed like this...

The really sad thing about that listing is not that it went unsold, but that someone was (apparently) prepared to bid up to $1400 for the site. Of course it could have been one of the seller's mates attempting to bump up the price.
