Receiving Credit Card Payments on Smart Phone?

Fellow Warriors,

I am working on 'targeting' some local businesses with a wide-range of services, and was wondering; "What is the best app for taking credit card payments on site via an Android Phone app?"

Recently, I read a thread where it was being discussed, you can scan payment into your phone, but for the life of me cannot remember which app other Warrior's recommended

The more options I can give clients on the spot, the better.

Thanks,

Art

It doesn't really make sense to process online site purchases through a cell phone, you would want a fully automated payment processor, often involving a merchant account.

There are credit card scanners for cell phones meant mostly for small time flea market operators who don't need a merchant account, they give you the scanner for free with no setup or monthly charge, just a percentage processing charge.

There are 2 Cell Phone Credit Card Scanners by Square and GoPayment (intuit) reviewed 1/2 way down the page. They can accept hand entered card numbers like you could ocassionally use taking orders from call in customers, they tack on additional 1/2 percent or so charge for not using the scanner.
