Should I give free advice or offer a product as a solution?

I've recently asked my subscribers for feedback, and I've been getting
a lot of questions about traffic generation, list building and other marketing related stuffs.

I'd like to know, how much should I reveal to them? As in, should I give them free advice or create a product instead, and offer to the them as a solution.

You could do both. One thing I do is write blog entries about different subjects my subscribers ask about and include a link in the email. I usually send two or three blog entries and then pitch a product saying something along the lines of "If you enjoyed those blog entries but still have more questions, you might find this helpful."

      Hey Amanda,

      Thanks for the great idea.

I enjoy talking to my subscribers and showing them things they don't know about.

But a short email is not enough to explain the whole idea, a blog post might do the trick. Thanks

If you have a product or can create one, you could definitely lead them into your product with snippets of free information that points them at the real product for the final answer. This is done all of the time all over the web. It's a very powerful tactic.

Your question lacks a bit of detail,
Is your list buyers? Or non buyers?

If they are buyers you do well to answer them and if you have a product that would fit their need do not hesitate to recommend it. Anything you can do to help them in their journey is going to
    A make you memorable
B establish credibility and confidence with your buyer
C ensures they will want to deal with you again

If your list is a freebie seeking list, answer the question limitedly and say but really this is much better explained in -product name and I recommend you checking it out as you will benefit a great deal from it.

One groups DESERVES your time the other you want to deserve your time so you respond to them -how do I drive traffic to my website answer: you can use things like forums classified ads bonus pages etc I don't have a lot of time right now but everything you need to know and way more is right here -link, check it out
    have a great day

there is my lesson for today free of charge
    cheers

Lol, that was a great lesson. Appreciate it. There are more freebie seekers in my list than buyers.

Yea I need to answer the questions limitedly instead of giving away everything.Just need some practice.

      Thanks

Amusingly enough, my subscribers ASK me to make a paid product, I've always told them - what I'm doing here - is not for money - it's to help people.

Now, I do make money from products I promote, and I am intending on creating a paid WSO (but all of my subscribers will get it for free).

I'm also constantly available on Skype and via email for my subscribers. However, most of my guides that I've done so far - have been free.

I've been told plenty of times I should charge for my guides, and to be honest, I probably should - but I don't want to. I make a lot of money separated from Wait30days.com (which is my only IM niche), so I feel like this website is a chance to give back to my subscribers and readers.

However, even I understand the need to create an income. If you provide a valuable product, the best people to sell to is your subscribers, because they'll know you will provide exceptional quality.

My suggestion is to give solid advice, and then spin it all into an easy-to-follow video series. Something like, "Hey, I got a lot of questions about building a list, so I decided to make a short video series to clear up those lingering questions." Would be a really good pre-launch sequence should you decide to deliver a larger product to your audience. Just build a simple page....make a series of 5 videos. Upload 1 video each week. in the meantime, develop a larger product and give little hints with your next few emails.

"Hey guys, hope you enjoyed the last video. I've got something really big coming up that will skyrocket your success. But, I'm still putting the finishing touches on it. In the meantime, check out the new video!"

Videos don't have to be long. I'm talking 2-10 minutes each. After everything's done, launch a larger product. Your list will love you.

I like videos because #1 - People are highly responsive to videos, and it builds excellent rapport with your list. #2- You're building credibility without charging up front. Good luck!

Create a product immediately, and start selling it. Then create another one. (If that's what you want to do, of course. Perhaps you're making money in other ways -- from advertising, or whatever...)

Big tip: you TRAIN your list how to perceive you. Therefore, start selling to them right away. If you don't, you'll have problems.

As someone once said, nothing happens until you sell something. It's all very well to focus on things like traffic and subscribers, without making a single sale.

SELL SOMETHING -- right NOW. :-)

The topics you've mentioned are HUGE, so it will be easy for you to give away valuable information, and to keep your best information for paid products.

To really hammer a point to death -- SELL something, and do it now. If you allow a list to wallow for months, and then try to sell to them, it will end in tears.

It sounds like you're already giving your list good high quality information. They trust you and want more details.

That seems like a perfect formula for a product designed to fit a need your subscribers have.

In one of my markets I was getting questions on a specific topic and I took the questions and created a simple report, just to test the waters with the entire list. Once the interest was confirmed by a good percentage of my list getting the report, I proceeded and built out a complete product. The response from the list for that product was good enough for me to spin out another product on just that sub-topic.

You're smart to be listening to your market. Now, act on their feedback.

You can always answer your subscribers' questions, but be careful if you're selling a product on the subject. You don't want to reveal too much and keep them satisfied at the same time. Helping your prospects will only build your credibility, sohelp them where you can.

Don't be too direct with referring them to your products though...if they get the slightest idea that you only want to make money desperately you'll lose potential customers.

you are totally missing the point.

Offer free advice and a product solution.

Why are you not doing both. You have to do both nowadays for people to gain your trust more and to hand over there hard earned dollars. Just try it, you will be sure to see results.
