Can I ask why you are throwing in the towel on adsense when you have so many page views per day? You can try selling affiliate products or turn the site into a lead capture page and collect leads.

Depending on the niche, I would collect leads and sell those. People everywhere are having the opposite problem that you have. They need traffic and leads.

What market and niche is the site in...I would definitely start collecting email subscribers if you not already doing it if you want to go down the route of affiliate marketing.

Aweber and mailchimp. Mailchimp is free though you may have problems with affiliate links.

Aweber is best you can send emails and newsletters with affiliate links, plus it tell you if its spam or not (message). Aweber is $1 trial in the first month.

You can try burstmedia as they pay a better rate per thousand views. But I would reckon to work with any other programs like CPA or affiliate marketing through which you can make more money besides those CPM networks.

If you are looking for an advertising program that pays per thousand views to your website, better try Adbrite or Traffic Revenue.

i just singed up on Adbrite says it will take 3-24 hours before i can get the banner to display ads.. so ill have to wait and see if they pay better.

@danlew have you got paid from Adbrite before? and how good is the ppm payout?

        Hmm...

1,000 visitors should make about $5-$10 per day from about 20-30 clicks.

If this isn't the case, then the problem must be one of the following:

        x) You are not using an efficient AdSense page layout. (ideas here)
        x) You don't have any decent content on the page that you have AdSense on.
        x) Your niche is hard to monetize by AdSense (lack of targeted advertisers) but I doubt this. if you are receiving 1,000 per day, you are receiving about 18,000-25,000 per month (due to less traffic on weekends, if it comes from organic search).
        x) Your traffic doesn't come from organic search (this changes which ads are being shown)

The fact that you have 1000s of visits per day means very little if those visits are not genuine. Are they?

One way to be sure is to look through your Google Analytics. Also in there, you can check your average time on site.

I'm not saying this applies to you, but I see this situation every day. People ask me why they get no sales, no clicks - and yet they have "thousands" of daily visits.

When I check, they're almost 100% referral or direct visits, i.e. looks like "bought traffic." Not "all" bought traffic is bad, but 90% of it IS.

A few people I know have maybe 1000 visits PER MONTH, but they're all ORGANIC and highly pre-qualified. They each make a VERY nice income off that, converting sometimes up to 10% and in one case over 30%. With each sale averaging $100, that's not bad.

One recent client of mine came to me with 200,000 "vists" per month on average and sales of around $100 per month! Turned out that his traffic was only 0.97% organic.

So, it's not about the quantity, but rather: quality of traffic.

What problems do the people visiting your site have? Can you create a product (or find an affiliate product) that solves their problems? If so, you have a winner!

Are these targeted visitors that you are getting? Are you against creating a product and selling to all of this traffic? How do you market your site and how do you generate your traffic? Why are you done with Adsense?

I think in many ways you're putting the cart before the horse.
I would think of the user experience and what their mindset is and try and match The ads with their mindset. Any offers/ads, CPA affiliate offers, whether it be with clickbank or CJ Junction, Amazon, eBay, etc There are many ways of monetising a website The problem is getting your users to click the ads.

This can only be solved by correct ad targeting and ad placement, where are your visitors from, What is There expectation... Track what are the hot and cold spots of the pages the Ads are on this will give you an idea of a better ad placement...

view your site from your reader's perspective Try and put yourself in their shoes who are they male-female, what are their interests, and from their perspective with an insight into their mindset. Then think about the offers/ads you can place. I hope this helps

CPM advertising networks behave pretty much as PPC networks, except that you get paid according to the number of impressions (i.e., page views) that the ads displayed on your site will generate.
