Videos using slides, words, and sound

What are the internet marketers using these days when you see them making videos that basically look like glorified powerpoint slides and there are words on each slide and they are reading each slide word for word?

Can someone help me and point me in the right direction to get started?

Thanks!

They usually record the PowerPoint presentations with Camtasia (paid software). As far as I know there is a free alternative called CamStudio (just google it).
The technique is like that: you first make a presentation, then you start it, and read your comments, recording everything with the screen capture software.

Open office has a powerpoint style called open office impress. I personally use camtasia for my screen capture software but its pretty expensive. Jing is pretty good and its cheap but you only can do 5 minutes at a time. Cam Studio is a screen capture service I have heard good things about.

Basically you would make a power point slide presentation and then record the screen with the screen capture software while you are giving the presentation with your microphone attached in your computer.

But I think such videos that shows power-point style presentation in videos for marketing don't work that much compared to something realistic created with professional video editing software's like aftereffects etc.

CamTasia! It's my favorite program, and also known for making the videos you are asking about!

It's also great for screen recording for tutorials etc..
