I love doing video reviews as they are easy to do and I can do one quickly...

However, I also try to add some written content as well for those folks who don't like watching videos and to maybe help with SEO some...

I've also found that when I was sending promo emails to my list that if I just copy/pasted that email to my blog then added a video it worked very well...

Also, helps with click throughs and responsiveness

I think video reviews are good but as per website usability is concerned you must also add a written review since all individuals don't have a high speed internet connection. Apart from this if you are planning for video based content you should learn about video sitemaps and video SEO

You'll have to do both since there are plenty of people who prefer written reviews.

However, personally, I look for video reviews FIRST. And I know I'm not the only one.

If you have the technical potential to make video reviews, do not hesitate. Video reviews may not be so good for SEO but they tend to be more viral than written review. In my opinion people share video reviews much more often than written reviews or websites, which means more traffic to your offer.
    IMHO

I think video reviews look more natural compared to text reviews.. I also try to convince my client if they can create a video review for the service but only those who are very very happy with my services, But I could convince only one of them though they do write good reviews on other sites for me...

I think you are going to lose some potential customers if you only did video reviews. Personally, I don't take the time to watch video reviews or testimonials. I like to see written accounts so I can quickly scan them for the benefits and negatives of the product.

Video reviews are in my opinion way more powerful. They build more trust with your visitors because they hear your voice, they know you are for real, a visual presentation is more engaging so your bounce rate will probably decrease dramatically, etc.

Not only that but there is a way to get more clicks in the search engines if your review page is already ranking well. I am using a service called smart video that makes your video visible on the search engine listing so that more searchers will click on your result rather than someone else's who doesn't have video.

Video reviews are a good tool. Why not do both? Do an in-depth video review, and then include the highlights in text below the video (not sure where you are putting them so hopefully you have the space to do that.) Also if you do the video right you will get some good SEO results from it.

I write posts with only written reviews and posts with both video and written reviews. Both work. Video review bolstering a written review works great.

I particularly like video reviews of digital products because they're easily created with screencapture video software (i.e. Camtasia).

If you're reviewing physical product, you can take footage of the product - assembly and using it. Alternatively you can create slides with voice-over of your written review including some images of the physical product.

The more ways you can resonate with your readers, the better.

I wouldn't, however, do only a video review because text helps SEO.

I guess video reviews with written reviews will be more effective. Video Attract customers for sure and they find it more interesting than written reviews however its much easy to read review rather than listening it.

Why not use both as some people prefer to watch information while other prefer to read.

Some people like watching videos some prefer reading... so my advice is to do BOTH!

If u have limited time... videos are quicker to produce and u can make a video wherever u are as long as u have ur camera with u!
