question about myblogguest.com

Hi,

I just signed up for myblogguest.com. I made an offer to a guy to publish his post on my blog, he agreed to do it. The question however in my mind is whether guest bloggers from the specified site usually pay to get their posts published on other websites?? I mean should i even ask him to pay for publishing his post on my blog?

btw my blog is a pr3 blog and though i want to make money out of it, but getting a guest post for free seems like good enough too... wat do u ppl say?? wat shud i do

It's great to have a guest poster get you new unique content on your site and will surely help your money making opporuntities providing you have the right monetization plan.

No you should not ask for money for other people to blog on your website. The reason is its a win-win situation for both of you. He will write high quality content and receive a link back to his website which can equal traffic. You will have unique content written by someone else which builds your ranking strength in Google. That's just my opinion.

No money should be involved. It's a win-win situation for both parties (provided the guest blogger is a reasonably good writer).

        THIS^^^^

You have a free good quality unique article, he/she has a link back to their site.

        That is the transaction.

yes i get that, but its an external link, and doesn't it affect the pr significantly. and I have seen sites not much bigger/better than mine, which asks for money from the guest bloggers.
am asking these questions because m pretty new to blogging and it is the first time that someone has written a guest blog for my site..

I agree that you should not ask for money. After all, you are getting an article for free. The blogger gets a link. You have both been "paid" in the exchange.

If you ask for money, you will likely lose out on the guest post...and word gets around quickly on the net.

Just be certain to only accept a really well-written article, and check first to be sure the author's link is not directed to any bad neighborhoods.

Yes. It appears you are the only one wanting to hear you can charge the person so it may be best to quote from My Blog Guest themselves, that way you'll get a better idea how it works.

So the concept is quite straightforward:
      • The author writes an article and shows it to the blogger;
      • The blogger decides if the article fits his blog and if yes, publishes it on the site.
      • (Optionally) The blogger and the author may arrange that the author promotes (i.e. shares) his post once it is published (and thus drives more traffic to the blogger's site).
How do bloggers benefit from guest posting?
The author thus expands his reach to the blogger's audience and the blogger gets a piece of great relevant content completely for free: free links and free content!
You may need to read the bits in bold.

I'm sure you could charge elsewhere but that is not the way My Blog Guest works.

You've gotten lots of good answers here, and in terms of MBG, like everyone has said, you can't charge for posting someone's articles.

That said, that doesn't mean you can't charge anyone for posting on your site. I have plenty of clients who are willing to pay to have their articles/links posted - you just can't make that arrangement through MBG. You could try it if someone queries you outside of the system, though. I personally do both. Never put all of your eggs in one basket.
