P.O. BOX vs. Street Address in Autoresponder

Has anyone found a higher opt out rate when using a P.O. BOX at the bottom of your autoresponder emails (like Aweber requires) than when using a street address?

I would like to switch to a P.O. Box but have heard some negative remarks.

FYI - I'm certainly not trying to hide anything, I just realize crazy people do exist.

I thought that the CAN SPAM rules required a physical address.

I didn't read anything that said you can't use a P.O. Box. Perhaps I missed it?

I use my P.O. Box without issue but I've never tested using street address to see if it affects conversion.

Regarding CAN-SPAM the FTC clarified last year that legit P.O. box or private mail box (like from the UPS Store) is okay to use and in compliance with CAN-SPAM:

(3) a "sender" of commercial e-mail can include an accurately-registered post office box or private mailbox established under United States Postal Service regulations to satisfy the Act's requirement that a commercial e-mail display a "valid physical postal address";

I've been using a PO Box for years with no ill effects and have never had a problem.

Use the physical street address of the post office and your box number on the second line. It will satisfy most insecure visitors.

This also works when you sign up for something that will not accept PO boxes.
