How do I market my new product.

Today I am launching my first ever eBook. It is focused on helping small business's create cheap professional websites. My goal is to make an average of two sales a day. I believe this is very possible however, I am not sure on where to start with marketing my website.

So far, I have done the following:
  • Added a link to my signature
  • Submited the website to the major search engines
  • Created a few backlinks
  • Performed some onsite SEO

I am thinking of sending emails/fax's to small business's however I do not have a list. I have tried searching online directories however it is really difficult to find fax numbers and email addresses.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Your business could easily be marketed offline. Here's what I would do:

Go and talk to a few small businesses in your area that do not have websites (or at least don't have good ones). Tell them they you are starting a business to help small businesses with their websites, and you would like to create one for them free of charge in exchange for using it as an example in your sales materials.

After you've created a few example web sites, create a printed out portfolio that looks very professional. I would then start going to local small businesses and presenting them with your offer. Since you've done the few example websites, these potential clients will see that other local businesses are already working with you, and this will instill a lot of trust in your business.

There are tons of great offline marketing WSO courses available and I would definitely check some out if I were you.

This is solid advice. I've never used this approach for an information product before, but I can attest that it works for services.

Plus, even the freebies have the potential of paying off. It'll be a breeze to sell them on back-end services once they see that you deliver the goods.

    Hi pagunton,

I am actually in the same industry, Im in sydney operating a hosting company and use a front end design service to access new accounts. (When you sell hosting you are actually selling fuel when people need the cars - websites)

We recently appointed a sales exec to manage small team going directly to businesses and developing leads, which then I and one other "head designer" close on the phone. I pay $20 per lead and we convert about 30%

Seems to be adding up fast going offline

I think some offline traffic tactics might help you out. Make some connections with local business owners and try to sell them. Place some ads in local newspapers with a link back to your site. Flyer businesses areas and etc.

There are tons of offline traffic methods which you can apply.

Since you do not have a list, I would consider instead using this item as a freebie to giveaway in order to grow your list. Create a good squeeze page hyping up how awesome this is and get their e-mail in exchange for a free download of it.

No matter how good your product is, without a list you can't sell it.

With a list you can sell many things.

For now stop focusing on selling and focus solely on growing your list.

Else you'll look back a year from now and wish you had.

Would it be worth trying to drum up some affiliates to sell for you, this way your not entirely relying on your own sales.

One trick that i learn on how to improve your chance of getting a sale is to show them their competitors website and explain they are losing out a percentage of customer...im sure they will consider it carefully...

having your product is easy to do and now marketing is the hardest.

What makes you different from your competitors.

How can you get your message out there quickly.

Ask yourself, but initually you need traffic and lots of it.

    These work for us,

    -PPC
    -Joint ventures
    -articles
    -Press releases
    - Youtube videos with your link down in the bottom of video while it plays.
