RSS feed? Pinging? Bookmarking?

Hello fellow warriors,

I'm new here and this is my first post. I need some help from a question that has been bothering for a while now that I can't seem to get some answer, even from Google.

I just want to know what the heck is this rss feed, pinging, and bookmarking??? What does it do? How can it rank up my article on google??? Does it offer more exposure by posting my article on a different site or something?

PLEASE no bias answer. I'm new to all this, and I need very SPECIFIC answer. Like explaining rss feed, piniging, and bookmarking each simple as possible and comprehensible.

I seen many info on rss feed, and I still don't get it. I think is basically like you submitting your feed to a rss directory, and site(s?) will get it and post it on their site/blog resulting more exposure to my article right?

But what if my rss feed didn't get pick by any site? Is that possible or impossible?

What's the limit to how many rss directories I can submit? Is there any sites where I can submit my rss feed and it will send to MULTIPLE rss feed directories?

What about pinging and bookmarking? What are those and how I do it?

Also, is there a single site where it will ping, bookmark, and submit to several rss directories for my articles/blogs?

Sorry for the many questions, but I really need some answers so I can start my online biz venture as soon as possible.

P.S. I also saw my article in a different site, at first I thought my article just got stolen, but I think that's just a site taking my rss feed right? I couldn't view the site as it comes out error so I can't be sure whether it is stolen or is just my rss feed but I think is more likely the rss feed thing.
