How can I do this with an Opt-In box on my sales letter?

Warriors,

I want to create a box in my sales letter where people can opt-in. That part is easy. But what I want to do is KEEP THEM on the sales letter and not be taken away. What I would like to do is have the box simply change once they submit, and have something like...

"Thank you for signing up, we will be sending you an email in a few minutes for you to confirm. In the meantime, please continue reading this page".

Any ideas how I can do this? I'm using Aweber for my opt-in box.

I would greatly appreciate it!

    Hi Dayne..

In AWeber you can specify an alternate thank you page...

Create a page on your site called thankyoublahblaah.html

Then on that page you can have your confirmation instructions and a link back to your main site job done

    Peace

That does not do what I am asking. I want to stay ON the sales page.

Put your Aweber signup form in the one page that is initially displayed in the iframe. Then, have your redirect after signup display another page that is formatted to fit the iframe.

Check out the quick demo below - you won't be subscribed to anything, fill in a fake email address if you want:

        http://www.jeffhope.com/subscribe/

Grab the code for it from view source (3 pages - the "sales page" + the before & after display in the iframe)
Spot on. An iframe is the easiest solution.

When they submit the form only the iframe page reloads -- not the entire salesletter -- so they'll stay exactly where there are and have a seamless registration process.

    Two options:

    1. Easiest: On the "action" line, simply add target=_blank

    example:
    PHP Code:
    <FORM action="http://www.getresponse.com/cgi-bin/add.cgi" method="post" target=_blank
    2. Harder: Use Divs & JavaScript to make is disapear after it's submitted. I don't know the code off hand.

    Hi Dayne,

I believe what you are trying to say is what is done in Ewen Chia, Secret affiliate Weapon.

You can use getresponse or aweber to acheive this. All you have to do make the opt in page your index. Go over to your autoresponder service and change your alternate link to your redirected page. Whe designing that redirected page, you can choose to add the words above "Thank you for signing up, we will be sending you an email in a few minutes for you to confirm. In the meantime, please continue reading this page". just as you want, then include your already designed page.

Or as Mr Hope said, use an iframe. The choice is yours to make

    Hi Dyne,

I'm gonna tell you the best way to do use an optin page. I learned it from Armand Morin and here's what he told me to do:

    1. Have an opting page and all you're selling is the subscribtion. Tell them what they're gonna get and give them a nice bonus (video or report...vidoes work better) in exchange for their email.

    2. Once they give you that information then they'll be redirected to the salespage.

Armand's reasoning for that was, If someone is not willing to give you their email...they are NOT gonna give you their wallet. It makes sense doesn't it?

But Armand also told me that it's a gutsy thing to do and alot of people are afraid of that approach even though it's more effective then having say...a pop up subscribtion box which most people can just click "X" and leave your site without you getting to ever follow up with them again.

I know that's not what you were asking for...but I assure you if you try this approach you'll get better results.

      That's not always the case.

      You've gotta test it.

In many markets, and at many price points, you're better off sending them right to the salesletter with an opt-in secondary.

You can do the exact same thing (and more) using an iframe.

And it doesn't cost you a cent

Jups you're right with the fact that it's an Iframe.
But the software will give you an easy setup interface (Windows based) so you don't have to "code" your self.
I think if you mail Keith you can get it for penny's

        Cheers
