The built in unarchiver handles zips you just have to double click the file, I use the free Stuffit Expander, you would certainly want a tester to verify that there are no surprising hickups in the formatting before you distribute.

My recommendation is to create .zip files for your customers and not .rar. WinRAR has no problem creating .zip files.

The reason is even if your customers don't have WinRAR installed they can use Windows inbuilt .zip extractor and I'm sure MAC has their own.

The default Mac archiver handles .rar files just fine. I do believe this is not the section for this?

My MAC wouldn't open the RAR files so I found a free app that works great to deal with RAR's.
