I know I've read somewhere how to change the admin name for a wordpress blog but when I tried the search, stuck out.

Anyone know the easiest way to change the admin name?

  I don't think this is in user settings. You need to go into mysql and change the data in the database table. But, it appears there is now a plugin for it.
  
  You also want to change the wp_ prefixes. It's best if you do this in the wp_config file before you install wordpress.

  Garrie is right about changing the name that is diplayed.
  
  If you want to login with a different username you could simply create another "Administrator" in the "Users" section.

There is a way to do it by creating a new user and attribute all the posts previously made once you've assigned the admin over to the new user.
1. Create a new user as an administrator.
2. Log out and log back in with the new administer login (i.e. your new username)
3. Delete the admin user.
4. WordPress will ask what you want to do with all the posts attributed to admin. Tell it to link them to your newly created Administer user. Hope this helps!
