How to make money with my Business Forums?

Hey all

I am running a Business forum (link in my signature) since 3 months now and haven't really payed much attention to monetizing it. I've only added 2 adsense banners and that is it. Now I have put a lot of work and effort in the site and I think it is time to start making some money with it. Do you guys have any ideas or advice for me? I am open for EVERYTHING (even business partners etc.).

    Im a member of a work from home business forum (not too much IM). One thing I noticed that the moderator does is he will mass PM his users, usually 3 or 4 times per week and promotes a product that way. Sometimes he does FREE eBooks while others are paid offers.

    I have a "Business in a Box" type product (Setup Instructions, Marketing Material, Website template, etc) and asked him if I could pay him to promote my product that way. He gave me a price and I gave it a shot. I ended up getting 5 sales (@ $100 a pop) plus 3 backend sales (another $150 total) for a total of $650. I paid him $250 so I made out ok as well as the forum moderator.

    So you could try something like that. Not sure how many subscribers you have to the forum but Im sure people would pay a pretty good penny to promote a product to your subscribers.

    I disagree.

    Your forum is still new and not very popular. IMHO your #1 goal (heck, your only goal) should be building your forum to get repeat visitors today, next week, next month, etc.

    If you can create a sustainable forum, which is not an easy task, then look at monetizing it.

    You may find that a sustainable forum, with quality posts, will inherently create a flood of business ideas you can use to create income.

    Put another way: forums created to make money typically die. Forums created with a passion for sharing can make their owners rich.
