Product Name - Does it make a difference?

I'm thinking about the name for my next product, and I was wondering if it pays to have a name which is SEO optimized (such as including keywords in the title) or if it doesn't really matter in the end?

What are your thoughts?

I think it would be more profitable choosing a product name with your market in mind.

Yes, your product name is extremely important. Whether we like it or not, people DO judge books by the cover (and the title!).

In my opinion, the most critical factor in naming your book is "selling the result". Look at it this way, which book would you rather buy:

      Let's put it this way...

When spiders and bots start buying stuff, I'll start naming products with them in mind. Until then, I'll name them for the people who I believe will buy them.

I would focus more on creating a product name that is enticing to potential customers, and less on making it appealing to the search engines.

I'd go with easy to remember marketing strategies. I'd also go with for example if you are trying to promote backlinking service: "best backlinking service".

This will bring a lot of traffic.

I say make sure that your product name is essential to your clients if you wish to sell them.

I could write an ebook on say membership sites and have two different titles.

The first one say, membership sites the facts
The second one would be Discover how to make money with membership sites, which one would make you wish to buy?

So, a little tip is always ask yourself what title would make you buy your product, and then you can't really go far wrong.

    Hi Mechatronix
I think the product name is of great importance also check out google and make sure the name hasnt been used on any product before otherwise you may inherit negative feeling.I would also try to seo optimize as I use this strategy. What strategies did you use with your previous products and were they profitable is the question I would ask.
